It resembles a variant of Scrabble in that tiles are placed on a crossword-style grid, with special premiums such as squares that double or triple the value of a tile and a 50-point bonus for playing all seven tiles on the player's rack in one turn. Unlike Scrabble, Mixmath uses numbered tiles to generate short equations using simple arithmetic. Wrebbit, maker of Puzz-3D jigsaw puzzles, has since been taken over by Hasbro, and it appears that Mixmath has been discontinued. Gameplay Mixmath is designed for 2 to 4 players in games lasting roughly 60 minutes. Players should be comfortable with the basic operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Scrabble variants are games created by changing the normal Scrabble rules or equipment. Variants with standard board and/or tiles Anagrab Anagrab is a word game which is usually played with Scrabble tiles. The name is an amalgam of the words 'anagram' (the basic game mechanism) and 'grab' - because a player's words may at any time be 'grabbed' by opponents. Numble
Numble is a 1968 board game published by Selchow and Righter which is very similar to Scrabble. Instead of forming words, players form sequences adhering to certain arithmetic and numerical constraints. Each tile in Numble has a single digit, 0 through 9, except for two blanks. A "word" in Numble is a string of digits in sequence (either ascending or descending). For example, 2,3,6,7 is a valid sequence (ascending), as is 7,6,3,2 (descending) while 3,6,7,1,1 (the same numbers) is not in sequence. Also, the sum of the digits must be a multiple of 3. (7+6+3+2=18, and 18 is 6 times 3.) A zero is allowed at each end and duplicate digits are allowed (except for having more than one zero at either end). Wrebbit
Wrebbit, Inc was a puzzle-making company best known for its ''Puzz-3D'' puzzles. The company was founded in Montreal, Quebec, by Paul Gallant, and marketed itself as "The Puzzle Innovators". Its namesake appears to stem from the fact that the company's mascot is a green frog, and "Wrebbit" is either an alternative spelling or possibly a play on words of the word ''ribbit''. In the late 1990s, 3-dimensional puzzles were a successful fad, leading to a rapid growth in the company. In 2001, the business was bought by Irwin Toy.
