Mixmash Records is a record label founded by DJ and producer Laidback Luke. The label primarily distributes house music, with subgenres including electro house, future house and progressive house. Mixmash Records is known to provide young talents a platform and is considered by many to be one of the most important labels in terms of new sounds and genre developments. Some artists that have worked and published on Mixmash Records include Avicii, Afrojack, Steve Angello, Blasterjaxx, D.O.D, Inpetto, Keanu Silva, Mark Villa, A-Trak and Steve Aoki. Laidback Luke
Lucas Cornelis van Scheppingen (born 22 October 1976), better known under his stage name Laidback Luke, is a Dutch DJ and music producer. He notably remixed the Robin S. song, " Show Me Love" which charted at No. 11 on the UK charts in 2009. He is also the founder of Mixmash Records. Career Lucas van Scheppingen was born to a Dutch father, Kees van Scheppingen and Filipina mother, Lucy Baruelo in Manila and grew up in Hoofddorp, Netherlands together with his younger brother, Asley. He had a passion for music since a young age. Luke began his career in 1992. He credits Gaston Steenkist as an early mentor. Nick Leonardus van de Wall (; born 9 September 1987), better known as Afrojack, is a Dutch DJ, music producer and remixer from Spijkenisse, South Holland. In 2007, he founded the record label Wall Recordings; his debut album '' Forget the World'' was released in 2014. Electro house is a genre of electronic dance music characterized by heavy bass and a tempo around 130 beats per minute. The term has been used to describe the music of many ''DJ Mag'' Top 100 DJs, including Benny Benassi, Skrillex, Steve Aoki & Deadmau5. Trap Music (EDM)
EDM trap is a fusion genre of hip hop, rave music and EDM, that originated in the early 2010s on peaking popularity of big room house and trap music genres. It blends elements of trap, which is an offshoot of Southern hip hop, with elements of electronic dance music like build-ups, drops, and breakdowns. A variety of artists spurred trap's move into pop and EDM. Blasterjaxx is a Dutch DJ and record producer duo composed of Thom Jongkind (born 1990) and Idir Makhlaf (born 1991), originated in The Hague and active since 2010.
