Mitsubishi Motors FC
, colloquially Urawa Reds (浦和レッズ), also known as Mitsubishi Urawa Football Club from April 1992 to January 1996, is a professional football club in the city of Saitama, part of the Greater Tokyo Area in Japan. The club plays in the J1 League, the top tier of football in the country. Its name comes from the former city of Urawa, now part of Saitama. The name Red Diamonds alludes to the club's pre-professional era parent company Mitsubishi. The corporation's logo consists of three red diamonds, one of which remains within the current club badge. History Mitsubishi Heavy Industries established a football club in 1950 in Kobe and moved the club to Tokyo in 1958. Nippon Steel Yahata Soccer Club (新日本製鐵八幡サッカー部 ''Shin-Nihon Seitetsu Yahata Sakkā-Bu'') was a Japanese football club based in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture. History Yahata Steel S.C. was founded in 1950 as the works team of the Yahata Steel company, which in 1970 merged with Fuji Steel to become Nippon Steel. Nagoya Grampus
(formerly known as ) is a Japanese association football club that plays in the J1 League, following promotion from the J2 League in 2017. Shimizu S-Pulse
is a professional Japanese football club. Located in Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka, Shizuoka Prefecture, S-Pulse currently competes in the J2 League (J2). The club was formed in 1991 as a founding member of the J.League (''"Original Ten"''), which began the following year. The club originally consisted of players drawn exclusively from Shizuoka Prefecture, a unique distinction at the time. Given the club's youth when compared to many of their J1 peers, S-Pulse have had a relatively large impact on Japanese football. Yokohama Flügels
was a Japanese football club that played in the J.League between 1993 and 1998. The club was an original member ("Original Ten") of the J.League in 1993. In 1999 the club was officially merged with local rivals Yokohama Marinos and the two teams became known together as Yokohama F. Marinos. 1969 Asian Club Championship
The 1969 Asian Champion Club Tournament was the 2nd edition of the annual Asian club football competition hosted by Asian Football Confederation. Ten domestic league champions from ten countries competed in the tournament. The tournament was held in Bangkok, Thailand and ten clubs were split in two groups of five. The group winners and the runners up advanced to semifinals. Maccabi Tel Aviv (ISR) defeated Korean club Yangzee FC (KOR) and became the second Israeli club to win the competition.
