Mitrovtsi
Mitrovtsi ( bg, Митровци) is a village in northwestern Bulgaria, part of Chiprovtsi Municipality, Montana Province. It is positioned beside the main road Sofia – Belogradchik – Vidin, between the villages of Beli Mel and Gorna Luka. Broadleaved woods cover the slopes of those mountains (oak, beech, hornbeam), with broad valleys in between them. The trees are covered with moss, many kinds of mushrooms can be found as well. Chiprovtsi Municipality ( bg, Община Чипровци) is a small frontier municipality ('' obshtina'') in Montana Province, Northwestern Bulgaria, located on the northern slopes of western Stara Planina mountain and the area of the so-called Fore-Balkan. It is named after its administrative centre - the town of Chiprovtsi. In the southwest, the municipality borders on Republic of Serbia. Marusya Ivanova Luybcheva ( bg, Маруся Иванова Любчева; born 20 July 1949, in Mitrovtsi, Montana district) is a Bulgarian politician who served as a Member of the European Parliament from 2007 until 2009 and from 2013 until 2014. She is a member of the Coalition for Bulgaria, part of the Party of European Socialists. Political career Luybcheva became a member of the European Parliament on 1 January 2007 with the accession of Bulgaria to the European Union. Illegal logging is the harvest, transportation, purchase or sale of timber in violation of laws. The harvesting procedure itself may be illegal, including using corrupt means to gain access to forests; extraction without permission, or from a protected area; the cutting down of protected species; or the extraction of timber in excess of agreed limits.
