Anton Mitov
Anton Stefanov Mitov (Bulgarian: Антон Стефанов Митов; 1 April 1862, in Stara Zagora – 20 August 1930, in Sofia) was a Bulgarian painter, art critic, art historian, social activist and corresponding member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Biography When he was fifteen, Ottoman troops burned his hometown and massacred over 14,000 people. His family fled to Svishtov, where they lived in poverty. He took a job as a clerk in Romania and remained there until Bulgaria was liberated in 1878, returning home determined to be an artist. In 1881, after working as a telegraph operator for two years, he saved enough money to enroll at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze where he studied under the direction of Giuseppe Ciaranfi. Upon his return home, he worked as a journalist and a teacher in Stara Zagora, Plovdiv, Varna and Sofia. Daniel Pavlov Mitov ( bg, Даниел Павлов Митов; born 4 December 1977) is a Bulgarian politician. He served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria from 2014 to 2017. He became Minister of Foreign Affairs on August 6, 2014 in the cabinet of Georgi Bliznashki and remained in that post in the cabinet of Boyko Borisov from October 7, 2014. Early life and education Born in Sofia, Mitov received his higher education at the Sofia University. In addition to his native Bulgarian, he is fluent in English, Italian, and Russian. Georgi Mitov
Georgi Mitov (Bulgarian: Георги Митов; 14 September 1875, Stara Zagora – 20 August 1900, Plovdiv) was a Bulgarian painter. Biography When he was only two, Ottoman troops burned his hometown and massacred over 14,000 people, forcing his family to flee to Svishtov. His childhood was marked by poverty and frequent illnesses. In 1889, he went to study in Plovdiv, then in Tarnovo. He later moved to Varna where he took lessons from Petko Klisurov and his own older brother Anton. Shortly thereafter, he and a friend went to Florence, where they met up with other painters from their hometown region, proceeding to Turin and studying with Giacomo Grosso at the Accademia Albertina. While there, his paintings won several awards. In 1896, his mother became seriously ill and he returned to Bulgaria. He soon began painting landscapes in the vicinity of Kazanlak. Nikolay Angelov Mitov (born 18 March 1972) is a Bulgarian former footballer and a former manager of Hebar Pazardzhik. Club career Mitov has played for Bulgarian teams - Hebar, Minyor and Levski, and German teams - Magdeburg and Holstein Kiel. With Levski he has played in 7 matches and has scored one goal. Silviya Mitova
Silvia Zarkova Mitova (later ''Hutchinson'', bg, Силвия Заркова Митова, born 29 June 1976) is a retired Bulgarian artistic gymnast. A five-time Bulgarian Champion, she placed fourth-sixth in some individual events at the 1991 and 1992 world championships. She competed in at the 1992 Summer Olympics with the best result of eighth place in the floor exercise. The same year she won a bronze medal in the vault at the European championships. Mitova was born to the Olympic gymnast Maya Blagoeva and Olympic gymnastics coach Zarko Mitov. One month after the 1992 Olympics Mitova received a serious neck injury while training on a trampoline. She was paralyzed, but partly regained mobility after a series of surgeries.
