Mitja Ilenič
Mitja Ilenič (born 26 December 2004) is a Slovenian professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Major League Soccer club New York City FC. Club career Early career Ilenič started his football career in 2011, at the age of six, with Bela Krajina, and then joined Domžale in the summer of 2019. He initially played as a forward, but later moved to the position of right-back when he was still a youngster. He signed his first professional contract with Domžale at the age of sixteen, and made his Slovenian PrvaLiga debut on 22 May 2021 against Aluminij, in the final round of the 2020–21 season. In October 2022, Ilenič extended his contract with Domžale until 2025. New York City Football Club is an American professional soccer club based in New York City that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), the highest level of American soccer, as a member of the league's Eastern Conference. The Leagues Cup is an annual association football competition between clubs from Major League Soccer and Liga MX in North America. It debuted in July 2019 with four teams participating from each league. The first edition was a single-elimination tournament hosted in the United States with a final played in Las Vegas on September 18, 2019. Beginning in 2023, the tournament will be expanded to include all clubs from MLS and Liga MX, and will function as the regional cup for the North American zone within CONCACAF, with the top three teams qualifying for the CONCACAF Champions League. The 2023 Major League Soccer season is the 28th season of Major League Soccer (MLS), the top professional soccer league in the United States and Canada. The league will have 29 clubs following the addition of St. Louis City SC as an expansion team in the Western Conference, with Nashville SC moving back to the Eastern Conference. Jan Oblak
Jan Oblak (born 7 January 1993) is a Slovenian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for La Liga club Atlético Madrid and captains the Slovenia national team. He is frequently ranked as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Oblak signed for Portuguese club Benfica at the age of 17, and was part of the team that won the domestic treble in the 2013–14 season. In 2014 he moved to Atlético Madrid for a fee of €16 million, becoming La Liga's most expensive goalkeeper at the time. In 2015–16 he won the Ricardo Zamora Trophy for best goalkeeper, conceding an all-time record low of 18 goals. He won the award again in the following three seasons, and for a fifth time in 2021.
