Mitiamo
Mitiamo is a town in northern Victoria, Australia. It is in the Shire of Loddon, north of the state capital, Melbourne. At the 2016 census, Mitiamo had a population of 117. Mitiamo Post Office opened on 13 April 1875. Mitiamo station opened in 1883 with the arrival of the Yungera line. The town has an Australian Rules football and Netball Club competing in the Loddon Valley Football Netball League. Golfers play at the course of the Mitiamo Golf Club on Mitiamo Forest Road. Mitiamo Railway Station
Mitiamo railway station was located on the Yungera line, serving the Victoria town of Mitiamo. The station closed to passenger traffic on 4 October 1981 as part of the ''New Deal'' timetable for country passengers. Shire Of Loddon
The Shire of Loddon is a local government area in Victoria, Australia, located in the northern part of the state. It covers an area of and in 2021 had a population of 7,759. It includes the towns of Inglewood, Boort, Serpentine, Pyramid Hill and Wedderburn. It was formed in 1995 from the amalgamation of the Shire of East Loddon, Shire of Gordon, Shire of Korong, and parts of the Rural City of Marong, Shire of Bet Bet, Shire of Maldon and Shire of Tullaroop. Yungera Railway Line
The Piangil railway line is a 5 ft 3 in gauge (1600 mm) railway line in north-western Victoria, Australia. It branches off the Deniliquin line just north of Bendigo, and runs in a north-westerly direction through Pyramid Hill and Kerang to the border town of Swan Hill, then roughly parallels the New South Wales border to Piangil and Yungera. The line is now open only as far as Piangil, and passenger services only operate to Swan Hill. History The line was opened from its junction with the Deniliquin line, just north of Bendigo, to Raywood in 1882. Terrick Terrick National Park
The Terrick Terrick National Park is a national park located in the region of Victoria, Australia. The national park was declared in June 1988 and is situated approximately northwest of Melbourne, north of the town of Mitiamo and north of Bendigo. The national park is an important remnant of Box-Ironbark forests and northern grass plains and is close to Kow Swamp, the site of a major palaeontological find providing insight into the origins of Indigenous Australians. There are many walking tracks and one basic campground. Drinking water is not available in the park and must be carried. Terrick Terrick National Park is one of the last remaining strongholds for the Plains-wanderer, an endangered Australian endemic bird species.
