Mitchell Benson (born May 30, 1967) is a former American football defensive tackle. He played for the Indianapolis Colts from 1989 to 1990 and for the History of the San Diego Chargers, San Diego Chargers in 1991. A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. Eastern Hills High School is a four-year public high school in Fort Worth, Texas, United States. 1989 NFL Draft
The 1989 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 23–24, 1989, at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, New York. The league also held a supplemental draft after the regular draft and before the regular season.
