Mitch Cole
Mitch Cole is an American men's basketball coach, currently an assistant coach at Samford. He previously coached at Birmingham–Southern and Berry College. Early life and education Cole is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He played basketball at Holy Cross School, graduating in 1988. Cole subsequently attended Montana State Billings and played basketball on its Yellow Jackets team. In 1992, he graduated with degrees in history and education. Cole earned his master's degree in education from Auburn University in 1995. Coaching career Cole began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant at Southeastern Louisiana in 1992. He also served as a graduate assistant at Auburn while he attended the university. In 1995, Cole was hired as an assistant coach at Birmingham–Southern under Duane Reboul. NCAA Division III
NCAA Division III (D-III) is a division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. D-III consists of athletic programs at colleges and universities that choose not to offer athletic scholarships to their student-athletes. The NCAA's first split was into two divisions, the University and College Divisions, in 1956, the College Division was formed for smaller schools that did not have the resources of the major athletic programs across the country. The College Division split again in 1973 when the NCAA went to its current naming convention: Division I, Division II, and Division III. Samford Bulldogs
The Samford Bulldogs are the 17 varsity teams (8 men's and 9 women's) that represent Samford University in NCAA Division I athletics. The men's basketball team made its first NCAA Tournament appearances in 1999 and 2000.They were led by Reed Rawlings, Marc Salyers, and Chris Weaver. The women's basketball team made its initial NCAA tournament appearance in the 2011 NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Tournament and made its second consecutive appearance in the tournament in 2012. The baseball team made its first NCAA tournament appearance in the 2012 NCAA Division I baseball tournament, reaching the finals of the Tallahassee Regional. Additionally, the softball team made its first NCAA Tournament Appearance in 2016. Bucky McMillan
Bucky McMillan (born August 12, 1983) is an American basketball coach. He is currently the head coach at Samford. Early life and education McMillan played basketball at Mountain Brook High School in Alabama and led them to a state final four in 2001. He played for Birmingham Southern from 2002 to 2006. McMillan was named to the league All-Academic team as a senior, and he graduated from Birmingham-Southern in 2007 with a degree in education services. Coaching career While in college, McMillan coached youth teams in Mountain Brook, and became the junior varsity head coach in 2006. McMillan was hired as the head coach at Mountain Brook in 2008. Wes Flanigan
Wes Flanigan is an American college basketball coach and current assistant coach for the Auburn Tigers men's basketball team. He is the former head coach for the Little Rock Trojans men's basketball team. Playing career Flanigan played at Auburn under Cliff Ellis, where he was an all- SEC selection his junior season. Flanigan finished his career second all-time in assists with 573, and scored 1,228 points, good for 22nd all-time. Billy Kennedy (basketball)
William Joseph Kennedy Jr. (born February 2, 1964) is an American basketball coach who is an assistant coach for Wichita State University men's basketball team. Previously, Kennedy was the head coach of the Texas A&M University men's basketball team. He took over the position vacated by Mark Turgeon in May 2011. Prior to this, he held the same position at Murray State University for five seasons. Kennedy previously held the same position at Centenary and Southeastern Louisiana.
