Missouri Route 350
Route 350 is a highway in the Kansas City, Missouri, area. Its eastern terminus is at the Interstate 470 (Missouri), Interstate 470/U.S. Route 50 in Missouri, U.S. Route 50 (I-470/US 50) interchange in Lee's Summit, Missouri, Lee's Summit; its western terminus is at Interstate 435 (Missouri), I-435 in Kansas City. Along the northern terminus, it fades into Blue Parkway and part of the route is an old alignment of US 50. Notable development along Route 350, particularly in and nearing Raytown, Missouri, Raytown, occurred in the late 1970s into the 1980s. However, much of this area now shows its age and the changing socioeconomic makeup of the area, with retail chains falling into disrepair or closing. Kansas City (abbreviated KC or KCMO) is the largest city in Missouri by population and area. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 508,090 in 2020, making it the 36th most-populous city in the United States. Lee's Summit, Missouri
Lee's Summit is a city located within the counties of Jackson (primarily) and Cass in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri. As of the 2020 census its population was 101,108, making it the sixth-largest city in both the state and in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. Origin of name The "Town of Strother" (not to be confused with a town of the same name in Monroe County) was founded by William B. Howard in October 1865. He named it for his wife, Maria D. Strother, the daughter of William D. Strother formerly of Bardstown, Kentucky. Howard came to Jackson County in 1842 from Kentucky, married Maria in 1844, and by 1850 he and Maria had and a homestead five miles (8 km) north of town. Howard was arrested for being a Confederate in October 1862, near the beginning of the Civil War, and after being paroled he took his family back to Kentucky for the duration of the war. Jackson County is located in the western portion of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 census, the population was 717,204. making it the second-most populous county in the state (after St. Louis County). Although Independence retains its status as the original county seat, Kansas City, Missouri, serves as a second county seat and the center of county government. Interstate 470 (Missouri)
Interstate 470 (I-470) is a loop of the Interstate Highway System that serves to link southeast Kansas City to Independence via Lee's Summit in Jackson County, Missouri. The western terminus of the freeway is at the Grandview Triangle interchange with I-49, I-435, U.S. Route 50 (US 50), and US 71 while the northern terminus is a cloverleaf interchange with I-70. The freeway travels west to east through southern Kansas City, curving toward the north at the Lee's Summit Municipal Airport and becoming concurrent with Route 291 as the highway travels north toward Independence. An intermediate interchange with US 50 provides access to southern Jackson County and to Raytown to the north via Route 350, a former alignment of US 50 before the construction of I-470.
