Missouri's 15th Senatorial District is one of 34 districts in the Missouri Senate. The district has been represented by Republican Andrew Koenig since 2017. Geography The district is based in the St. Louis metropolitan area. The district is in southwestern St. Louis County, including the cities of Ballwin, Chesterfield, Ellisville, Manchester, Town & Country, and Wildwood. Andrew Koenig (politician)
Andrew P. Koenig (born December 21, 1982) is an American politician who since 2017 has served in the Missouri Senate. Koenig is a former member of the Missouri House of Representatives as well as a small business owner. He represented the 88th district from 2009 to 2012 and the 99th district, which includes Manchester, Twin Oaks, Valley Park, and parts of Fenton, from 2013 to 2017. Koenig was elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2020 to serve as the State Senator from the 15th district. The Missouri Botanical Garden is a botanical garden located at 4344 Shaw Boulevard in St. Louis, Missouri. It is also known informally as Shaw's Garden for founder and philanthropist Henry Shaw. Its herbarium, with more than 6.6 million specimens, is the second largest in North America, behind that of the New York Botanical Garden. Deb Lavender
Deb Lavender (born October 11, 1956) is an American politician who from 2015 to 2021 served in the Missouri House of Representatives, and is serving again as of 2023. A Democrat, Lavender represented the 90th district from 2015 to 2021, which comprised all or part of the cities of Glendale, Kirkwood, Oakland, Sunset Hills, Warson Woods, and Webster Groves in St. Louis County. Eric Schmitt
Eric Stephen Schmitt (born June 20, 1975) is an American lawyer and politician serving as the junior United States senator from Missouri since 2023. A member of the Republican Party, Schmitt served as a Missouri state senator from 2009 to 2017, as Missouri state treasurer from 2017 to 2019, and as the Missouri attorney general from 2019 to 2023. From 2009 to 2017, Schmitt was a member of the Missouri Senate, representing the 15th district. Castlewood State Park
Castlewood State Park is a public recreation area and Missouri state park occupying which straddle the Meramec River in St. Louis County, Missouri. The most visited section of the state park lies on the north side of the Meramec; the park acreage on the south side of the river is accessed from Lone Elk County Park and includes the World Bird Sanctuary. History Lincoln Beach In the early 20th century, the area of the park was a developed resort town, Lincoln Beach. Lincoln Beach existed from about 1915 into the 1940s, with its highest popularity in the 1920s. The Missouri Pacific Railroad ran regular service from St Louis to Lincoln Beach, and the resort hosted around 10,000 visitors on summer weekends. Faust Park
Faust Park is a 200-acre public park in Chesterfield, Missouri. History The land that would one day become Faust Park was originally owned by Frederick Bates, the second Governor of Missouri. In 1819, Bates built an estate on the land called Thornhill. The Thornhill Estate was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. In 1968, Leicester Busch Faust acquired 100 acres of land and opened it to the public as a park. By 1995, the park had expanded to be nearly double its original size. Several attractions have since been erected in the park such as the St. Louis Carousel, a Carousel built in the 1920s from a amusement park in Forest Park. After St. Louis Highlands, an amusement park in Forest Park, burned to the ground in 1963, several workers saved what was left and many of the items were brought for display in Faust Park. Maryville University
Maryville University of St. Louis is a private university in Town and Country, Missouri. It was originally founded on April 6, 1872 by the Society of the Sacred Heart and offers more than 90 degrees at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels to students from 50 states and 47 countries. The Missouri Senate is the upper chamber of the Missouri General Assembly. It has 34 members, representing districts with an average population of 174,000. Its members serve four-year terms, with half the seats being up for election every two years. The Senate chooses a President Pro Tempore to serve in the absence of the lieutenant governor or when he shall have to exercise the office of governor of Missouri if there is a vacancy in that office due to death, resignation, impeachment, or incapacitation.
