Mississippi Highway 356 (MS 356) is a east-west state highway in North Mississippi. It connects the communities of Hinkle, Pisgah, and Jacinto with the town of Rienzi. Route description MS 356 begins at the beginning of state maintenance along Kossuth - Rienzi Road in rural Alcorn County. It heads east through a mix of farmland and woodlands, traveling over gently rolling hills for a few miles to have an intersection with US 45 and enter the town of Rienzi. The highway makes a sharp left onto Main Street, at an intersection with County Roads 443 (Robbins Street) and 442, before passing through a neighborhood. MS 356 travels through downtown, where it makes a sharp left onto Front Street before making a sharp right onto Green Street, before crossing over a railroad track and winding its way out of town along Googe Street. Rienzi, Mississippi
Rienzi is a town in Alcorn County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 317 at the 2010 census. History Rienzi was named for Cola di Rienzo, a medieval Italian politician. The original town was settled in 1830 and was located one mile west of its current location, near the Nesly Williams Plantation. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land. The town is concentrated along Mississippi Highway 356 (signed as Main Street and Front Street), just east of the highway's intersection with U.S. Route 45, in southern Alcorn County. Corinth lies to the north, Booneville lies to the south, and Glen lies to the northeast. Alcorn County is a county located in the northeastern portion of the U.S. state of Mississippi. As of the 2010 census, the population was 37,057. Its county seat is Corinth. The county is named in honor of Governor James L. Alcorn. The Corinth Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Alcorn County. North Mississippi
North Mississippi is a region in the northeastern portion of the U.S. state of Mississippi, consisting of Alcorn, Itawamba, Lee, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo, and Union counties. Mississippi Highway 367
Mississippi Highway 367 (MS 367) is a short state highway located in northeastern Mississippi. The route starts at MS 356 near Jacinto and travels northeastward. MS 367 intersects several county roads before ending at the Alcorn– Tishomingo county line. The route was designated around 1965, from a former routing of MS 356. The highway was paved by 1974, and the section in Tishomingo County was decommissioned by 1998. Route description All of MS 367 is located in southeastern Alcorn County. In 2017, the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) calculated 200 vehicles traveling on MS 367 southwest of County Road 349 (CO 349) on average each day. The route is legally defined in Mississippi Code § 65-3-3, and all of it is maintained by MDOT, as part of the Mississippi State Highway System.
