Mississippi Highway 348 (MS 348) is a east-west state highway in the North Central Hills of North Mississippi. It connects the cities of New Albany and Guntown, via the community of Ellistown. Route description MS 348 begins in Union County in the city of New Albany, at an intersection with MS 15/ MS 30 just southeast of downtown. It heads southeast along Center Street through neighborhoods before leaving the city and winding its way through hilly woodlands for the next several miles, passing through the communities of Center and Mound City. The highway becomes concurrent with MS 9 between the communities of Ellistown and Branyan before entering Lee County. Mississippi Highway 145
Mississippi Highway 145 (MS 145) is the designation for the parts of the old U.S. Route 45 (US 45) roadbed that the state continues to maintain or has designated. Those ten sections travel through Waynesboro, near Boice, through Shubuta, from De Soto to Meridian, through Shuqualak, through Macon, through Aberdeen, through Nettleton, from Shannon to Booneville, and through Corinth. Waynesboro US 45 was fully rerouted out of Waynesboro in 2004, and the old alignment became MS 145. MS 145 begins south of town at an intersection with US 45. Mississippi Highway 9 (MS 9) in the Appalachian Foothills (aka North Central Hills) region of northeastern Mississippi, running north–south from MS 30 east of New Albany to MS 12 in Ackerman. New Albany, Mississippi
New Albany is a city in and the county seat of Union County, Mississippi, United States. According to the 2020 United States Census, the population was 7,626. History New Albany was first organized in 1840 at the site of a grist mill and saw mill on the Tallahatchie River and was developed as a river port. New Albany is the birthplace of author William Faulkner as well as Eli Whiteside and Bettie Wilson and the adopted home of Morris Futorian, father of the Northeast Mississippi furniture industry.
