Mississauga—Lakeshore (formerly Mississauga South) is a federal electoral district in Peel Region, Ontario, Canada. It has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 1979. Geography The riding includes the Mississauga neighbourhoods of Clarkson, Lakeview, Lorne Park, Mineola, Port Credit, Sheridan, Sheridan Park, Southdown and parts of Erindale and Cooksville. Charles Sousa
Anthony Charles Sousa (born September 27, 1958) is a Canadian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament from Mississauga-Lakeshore since December 12, 2022. He previously served as the Minister of Finance for Ontario from 2013 to 2018. A member of the Ontario Liberal Party, Sousa was elected to represent Missisuaga South in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in 2007. He joined the provincial cabinet as the minister of labour in 2010 and became Ontario's minister of citizenship and immigration in 2011. In 2022, Sousa ran as the federal Liberal candidate in the Mississauga-Lakeshore by-election which was held on December 12, 2022. Sousa won the election, defeating 39 other candidates. Sven Spengemann
Sven Michael Spengemann (born October 3, 1966) is a German-Canadian lawyer, bureaucrat and politician, who was elected to represent the electoral district of Mississauga—Lakeshore in the House of Commons of Canada in the 2015 federal election. He was successfully re-elected in the subsequent 2019 federal election and the 2021 federal election. Spengemann announced on May 18, 2022 that he would be resigning as the MP for Mississauga—Lakeshore to accept a role with the United Nations. Stella Ambler (born September 29, 1966) is a Canadian politician who served as the Member of Parliament for the federal electoral district of Mississauga South from 2011 to 2015. She is a member of the Conservative Party. Background Ambler's parents are Italian immigrants who met and married in Canada, settling in Etobicoke then moving to Brampton. Erindale, Mississauga
Erindale is an historical neighbourhood located within the central part of the city of Mississauga, west of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Erindale is named in honour of the birthplace of the first rector of the village, Reverend James Magrath from Erin (Ireland). It runs along Dundas Street West.
