Mission Viejo Nadadores
The Mission Viejo Nadadores is one of the largest swimming and diving clubs in the United States. The team is located in Mission Viejo, California, training at the Marguerite Aquatic Center. The "Nadadores" were started in 1968 and have had athletes at every Olympics since 1976. The team holds the record for winning the most team titles at the USA swimming Nationals, having won 48. The Dive Team has also won 48 National Championship and is the only team in history to sweep all 4 World Championships in one year. Mission Viejo ( ; corruption of ''Misión Vieja'', Spanish for "Old Mission") is a commuter city in the Saddleback Valley in Orange County, California, United States. Mission Viejo is considered one of the largest master-planned communities ever built under a single project in the United States and is rivaled only by Highlands Ranch in size. Its population as of 2020 was 93,653. Mission Viejo is suburban in nature and culture, and consists of residential properties, offices and businesses. Tiffany Cohen
Tiffany Lisa Cohen (born June 11, 1966) is an American former swimmer who was a double gold medalist at the 1984 Summer Olympics (400-meter and 800-meter freestyle). Cohen is Jewish. In 1982, she won the U.S. National Championship in the 500-, 1,000-, and 1650-yard freestyle, and finished third in the 400-meter freestyle at the FINA World Aquatics Championships. Kate Marie Ziegler (born June 27, 1988) is an American competition swimmer who specializes in freestyle and long-distance events. Ziegler has won a total of fifteen medals in major international competition, including eight golds, five silvers, and two bronzes spanning the World Aquatics and the Pan Pacific Championships. She was a member of the 2012 United States Olympic team, and competed in the 800-meter freestyle event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Early years Ziegler was born in 1988 in Fairfax, Virginia, the daughter of Don and Cathy Ziegler. She was a part of a local swim team, FISH, where she was coached under Ray Benecki. Larsen Jensen
Larsen Alan Jensen (born September 1, 1985) is an American former competition swimming (sport), swimmer and a two-time Olympic medalist. Career At the 2003 World Championships, Jensen earned a silver medal in the 800-meter freestyle, his first medal at the international level. He competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics, winning silver in the 1,500-meter freestyle race, as well as competing in the 400-meter freestyle, where he finished fourth. At the 2005 World Aquatics Championships, he won silver medals in the 800 and 1,500-meter freestyle races. The swimming competitions at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens took place from 14 to 21 August 2004 at the Athens Olympic Aquatic Centre in Marousi. It featured 32 events (16 male, 16 female), a total of 937 swimmers from 152 nations, and the program's changes instituted in the previous Games, including notably the three-phase format (heats, semifinals, and final) for all short-distance races (200 metres and under). Swimmers from the United States continued to dominate the medal tally with a total of 28, earning twelve golds, nine silver, and seven bronze. Ron O'Brien (coach)
Ron O'Brien is an American diving coach and author. O'Brien has coached divers who have successfully placed gold in Olympic and collegiate competitions. O'Brien has published several how-to books related to diving. Athletic career O’Brien began his athletic career as a diver at the YMCA of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Once in college at Ohio State University, he earned six varsity letters in gymnastics and diving. Mark Schubert
Mark Schubert is an American swim coach and was USA Swimming's National Team head coach from June 2006 until November 2010. He took a paid leave of absence from his role with USA Swimming in September 2010, and was later terminated from his position. He returned to coach again with the Mission Viejo Nadadores, but in early 2022 departed with some pro swimmers to coach at SET. As of late 2022, Coach Schubert went to coach swimmers in China. Prior to this position, he served as the head coach for both the University of Southern California men's and women's swim teams. He previously coached at the University of Texas from 1989 to 1992 where he coached NCAA champions such as Leigh Ann Fetter and Whitney Hedgepeth.
