Mission Party
The Mission Party ( hy, Առաքելություն կուսակցություն, translit=Arrak’elut’yun kusakts’ut’yun) was an Armenian political party founded on 2 February 2013. In August 2021, the party announced its decision to merge with the Country of Living Party. History Its debut was at the 2013 Yerevan City Council election, where the party came in last place with less than 1% of the vote. In the 2017 Armenian parliamentary election, the party participated as part of the Tsarukyan Alliance. The alliance won 31 seats in the National Assembly. In the 2018 Yerevan City Council elections, the party joined Civil Contract and formed the My Step Alliance, which won the elections, and their candidate Hayk Marutyan became the Mayor of Yerevan. Country Of Living
Country of Living ( hy, Ապրելու երկիր կուսակցության, translit=Aprelu yerkir kusakts’ut’yan), also known as Country to Live, Living Country or Land of Living, is an Armenian political party. It was founded in 2021 and is currently led by Mane Tandilyan. History The party held its founding congress on 15 August 2021, the founders of the party are Mesrop Arakelyan and Mane Tandilyan. Mane Tandilyan, a previous member of Bright Armenia, was unanimously elected Chairwoman. Meanwhile, Mesrop Arakelyan of the Mission Party announced that he was merging the Mission Party with the Country of Living party. Tandilyan and Arakelyan both formerly served as Minister of Labor and Social Affairs under Nikol Pashinyan. 2018 Armenian Parliamentary Election
Snap parliamentary elections were held in Armenia on 9 December 2018, as none of the parties in the National Assembly were able to put forward and then elect a candidate for Prime Minister in the two-week period following the resignation of incumbent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on 16 October. They were the first elections after the 2018 revolution and the country's first-ever snap elections. The result was a landslide victory for Pashinyan's My Step Alliance, which received 70% of the vote and won 88 of the 132 seats in the National Assembly. Yerevan City Council
The Yerevan City Council () is the lawmaking body of the city of Yerevan, the capital and largest city of Armenia. It has 65 members elected by Party-list proportional representation system, headed by the Mayor of Yerevan. The Council serves as a check against the mayor in a mayor-council government model. The council monitors performance of city agencies and makes land use decisions, as well as, legislating on a variety of other issues. The City Council also has sole responsibility for approving the city budget and each member is limited to three consecutive terms in office and can run again after a four-year respite.
