''Mission in Kabul'' (russian: Миссия в Кабуле, Missiya v Kabule) is a 1970 Soviet drama film directed by Leonid Kvinikhidze. Plot The film takes place in Afghanistan in 1919. The film tells about the struggle of the mission in Kabul with representatives of the West for signing a cooperation agreement. Aleksandr Sergeyevich Demyanenko (russian: Алекса́ндр Серге́евич Демья́ненко; May 30, 1937 – August 22, 1999) was a Soviet and Russian actor. He was given the honorary distinction of People's Artist of the RSFSR. He began his acting career with the film '' The Wind'' in 1959, and is well known for playing the character Shurik in a number of films, beginning with the 1965 comedy '' Operation Y and Other Shurik's Adventures'', and ending with the 1997 film ''Old Songs of the Main Things 2''. Gennady Petrovich Nilov (russian: Генна́дий Петро́вич Ни́лов; 1 October 1936) is a Soviet and Russian actor. Biography Gennady Nilov was born in 1936 in the town of Luga, Leningrad Oblast (now St. Petersburg). His father was a clerk, his mother was a cook. Because of the constant changes of residence, the young Gennady had to study three times in the first grade and for this reason he completed his first grade only at the age of 9 in Kyiv. His uncle on mother's side is Pavel Kadochnikov. After the war Nilovs family had been sharing the apartment with the famous actor for some time. It was at that time that Gennady expressed his interest in acting. While studying at school, he was the head of the drama club, he used to stage performances and pick costumes for actors himself. Algimantas Masiulis (July 10, 1931 Surdegis, Anykščiai District Municipality — August 19, 2008, Kaunas, Lithuania) was a Lithuanian film and theatre actor. Biography Masiulis appeared in his first play in the autumn of 1948, in '' Schoolgirl'', where he played the role of a gym student. The play was directed by his teacher, Juozas Miltinis. Over the course of his career, Masiulis portrayed over 90 characters. Masiulis appeared in Lithuanian, Russian and Soviet productions. He performed at the Panevezys Drama Theatre for many years before joining the Kaunas State Drama Theatre in 1978. Masiulis also devoted more time to his drawings and art during the latter part of his life. Masiulis was awarded the 3rd Class Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas in 1998 for his work in cinema and theater. Mohammed Nadir Shah (Persian and ps, محمد نادر شاه – born Mohammed Nadir Khan; 9 April 1883 – 8 November 1933) was King of Afghanistan from 15 October 1929 until his assassination in November 1933. Otar Leontyevich Koberidze ( ka, ოთარ კობერიძე; 17 December 1924 – 9 March 2015) was a Georgian actor, film director and screenwriter. Biography Koberidze was born in Tiflis, Georgian SSR (now Tbilisi, Georgia), where he graduated from the Rustaveli State Theatre Institute in 1948. He then worked at the Drama Theater in Sukhumi and Marjanishvili Theater in Tbilisi. He played more than 50 roles during his career at the film studio Kartuli Pilmi, including a memorable role of a 17th-century Georgian hero in the 1956 historical action film ''Bashi-Achuki''. He directed ten films and wrote scripts for three films. Koberidze was awarded the title of People's Artist of Georgia in 1967. He died at the age of 90 in Tbilisi in 2015.
