William Clemens (film Director)
William Clemens (September 10, 1905 – April 29, 1980) was an American film director. Born in Saginaw, Michigan, Clemens began his Hollywood career as a film editor in 1931. His first directing project was ''Man Hunt'' in 1936. His major credits include ''On Dress Parade'' with the Dead End Kids, two Perry Mason mysteries (''The Case of the Velvet Claws'' and ''The Case of the Stuttering Bishop''), three films featuring detective Tom Lawrence, a.k.a. "The Falcon," four films based on the Nancy Drew series, and ''Calling Philo Vance'' in 1940. Clemens' final project was ''The Thirteenth Hour'' in 1947. He died in Los Angeles, California in 1980. Michael Mark (born Morris Schulman; 15 March 1886 – 3 February 1975) was a Russian-born American film actor. He appeared in more than 120 films between 1928 and 1969. Biography Born in 1886 in Mogilev, Russian Empire (now Belarus), he immigrated to the United States in 1910. During the 1930s and 1940s, he was used by Universal Studios in minor roles for several Frankenstein movies, although he played different parts in each of them. He may perhaps best-remembered, if not by name, as the desperate father of the killed girl in ''Frankenstein'' (1931) with Boris Karloff. Michael Mark died in Los Angeles, California, aged 88, in 1975. Jack Mower (September 5, 1890 – January 6, 1965) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 520 films between 1914 and 1965. He was born in Honolulu and died in Hollywood. After studying at Punahou College, in Honolulu, Mower moved to the mainland, and performed in vaudeville and in musical comedies on stage. His work on screen included serials and silent films. Mower was a leading man in silent films, but played bit parts after sound films came into vogue. Raymond Hatton
Raymond William Hatton (July 7, 1887 – October 21, 1971) was an American film actor who appeared in almost 500 motion pictures. Biography Hatton was born in Red Oak, Iowa. His physician father steered him toward a career in medicine. However, Hatton had become enamored of being on stage after he acted in a school play, and he left home to go into acting as a career. Hatton was part of a vaudeville act that went to Hollywood in 1911. There, he established a successful silent film career, including a stint being paired in 1920s comedies with Wallace Beery. During the sound era, though, his career soon skidded and he usually played smaller supporting roles, including the tobacco-chewing, rowdy character Rusty Joslin in ''The Three Mesquiteers'' Western B picture series.
