Miss World 1977, the 27th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 17 November 1977 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, UK. The winner was Mary Ann-Catrin Stävin from Sweden. She was crowned by Miss World 1976, Cindy Breakspeare of Jamaica. Runner-up was Ineke Berends representing Holland, third was Dagmar Gabriele Winkler from Germany, fourth was Madalena Sbaraini of Brazil, and fifth was Cindy Darlene Miller from United States. Mary Ann-Catrin Stävin (born 20 August 1957) is a Swedish actress, model and beauty queen who won Miss World 1977 in London. She is the third Swedish woman to win the Miss World crown. Acting career Among her more prominent acting roles are bit parts in two of Roger Moore's ''James Bond'' films. In ''Octopussy'' (1983), she played an Octopussy girl, and in ''A View to a Kill'' (1985), she played agent Kimberley Jones. Cynthia Jean Cameron Breakspeare (born October 24, 1954) is a Canadian- Jamaican jazz singer, musician and beauty queen. Breakspeare was crowned Miss World 1976. Breakspeare is the mother of reggae musician Damian Marley, through her relationship with Bob Marley, who remained married to Rita Marley until his death. Bob Marley is said to have written the songs ‘Turn Your Lights Down Low’ and 'Waiting in Vain' about her. Miss World
Miss World is the oldest existing international beauty pageant. It was created in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951. Since his death in 2000, Morley's widow, Julia Morley, has co-chaired the pageant. She was crowned by Miss World 1977, Mary Stävin of Sweden.
