Miss Wales
Miss Wales is a national beauty pageant in Wales. Rules Miss Wales is open to unmarried women from age 16 to age 24, and is organized by Vibe Models. Contestants must not have had children, must be British citizens and must reside in Wales. Winners are expected to support "Welsh issues, charities, or other good causes ".There is also a corresponding Mister Wales contest for men. Miss World from Wales In 1961, Rosemarie Frankland finished 1st runner-up at Miss Universe 1961, she then became the first Welsh woman to win Miss United Kingdom. In the same year, she became the first British woman to capture the Miss World crown. 1974's Miss Wales, Helen Morgan, achieved exactly the same feat as Rosemarie Frankland, when she finished as 1st runner-up at Miss Universe 1974, before going to win the Miss United Kingdom and Miss World titles. A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Miss World 2000
Miss World 2000, the 50th anniversary of the Miss World pageant, was held on 30 November 2000 at the Millennium Dome in London, United Kingdom. The pageant's swimsuit segment was filmed in the Maldives. The pageant was the first since the death of pageant owner Eric Morley, whose widow Julia Morley assumed responsibility for the event. The pageant had 95 contestants, the highest number of Miss World participants at that time. The pageant was won by Priyanka Chopra of India, at the age of 18. She was crowned by her predecessor Yukta Mookhey also from India. She is the fifth Miss World and the second consecutive winner from her country. Miss World 2012, the 62nd edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 18 August 2012 at Dongsheng Fitness Center Stadium in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China. 116 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Miss World 2021 was the 70th edition of the Miss World pageant, held at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, Puerto Rico on 16 March 2022. The coronation was originally scheduled to be held on 16 December 2021 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum. However, the pageant was rescheduled to 16 March 2022 due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Puerto Rico. Contestants from 97 countries and territories competed in this year's pageant, featuring the smallest number of candidates at the pageant since 2003.
