Miss Universe Thailand 2021
Miss Universe Thailand 2021 was the 22nd edition of the Miss Universe Thailand pageant. It was held on October 24, 2021 at the NICE of Nong Nooch Tropical Garden in Pattaya, Thailand. Miss Universe Thailand 2020, Amanda Obdam, crowned Anchilee Scott-Kemmis as her successor at the end of the event. She represented Thailand at the Miss Universe 2021 competition held in Eilat, Israel but was unplaced. Thirty contestants will participate in this year's competition. The pageant will be hosted by Piyawat Kempetch in his third consecutive year. Beauty camp will be held at Khao Yai National Park in Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima. This will be the first time the pageant will air as a reality show on TrueID. The final competition will be broadcast by PPTV HD and TrueID. Punika Kulsoontornrut
Punika Kulsoontornrut ( th, ปุณิกา กุลสุนทรรัตน์; born October 9, 1992) is a Thai beauty pageant titleholder, who represented Thailand in Miss Earth 2013 and Miss International 2014. She placed as 2nd Runner-up for both pageants. Since 2021, she has been assigned as the manager and runway coach for Miss Universe Thailand pageant. Early life According to her interview published in the Miss Earth website, Kulsoontornrut grew up in near poverty with her big family. Although her family was poor, she was grateful for being taken care of, and for her, that is the lesson she values the most. Controversy ''Kom Chad Luek'' became the target of mass protests after it printed an article on 24 March 2006 that omitted part of a quote by anti-government protest leader Sondhi Limthongkul, with the misquote suggesting Sondhi wanted King Bhumibol Adulyadej to abdicate, which was viewed as an insult to the king, or lèse majesté, which is a crime in Thailand.
