Miss Transqueen India
Miss Transqueen India is an Indian beauty pageant for transgender people across India. Reena Rai, who identifies as cisgender, is the founder and chairperson of the organization. The winner of the pageant will represent India at Miss International Queen. Navya Singh is the Brand Ambassador of Miss Transqueen India. The reigning Miss Transqueen India is Shaine Soni (crowned 19 December 2020). Formerly, Nithu R S from Bangalore wore the crown. History The founder began trying to bring her project into the limelight in November 2016 but struggled due to lack of sponsorship. The first ever Miss Transqueen India was held at Gurugram, New Delhi where 16 contestants, selected from among 1500 transgender people across 10 states, competed for the crown. A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. Miss International Queen 2022, the 16th Miss International Queen pageant was held on 25 June 2022 at Pattaya, Chonburi province in Thailand. Valentina Fluchaire of Mexico crowned Fuschia Anne Ravena of the Philippines as her successor at the end of the event. This is the third time that the Philippines claimed the title. Bishesh Huirem is an Indian actress and model from the Meitei ethnicity of Manipur. She is best known for being the first Indian to represent India at the Miss International Queen for Transgender 2016 organised in Pattaya, Thailand. She is the first Indian transgender to be appointed as a state icon for the parliamentary polls in the Lok Sabha elections.
