Miss Thailand Universe 2008
Miss Thailand Universe 2008 was the 9th Miss Thailand Universe pageant held at the Aksra Theatre, King Power Complex, in Bangkok, Thailand on May 24, 2008. In the final round, broadcast live on BBTV Channel 7, Gavintra Photijak, was crowned Miss Thailand Universe 2008 by Farung Yuthithum, Miss Thailand Universe 2007. Two months later, in July 2008, Gavintra Photijak went to Miss Universe 2008 at Nha Trang, Vietnam and won Best National Costume Award. Miss Thailand Universe 2008 Crowning
Miss (pronounced ) is an English language honorific typically used for a girl, for an unmarried woman (when not using another title such as " Doctor" or "Dame"), or for a married woman retaining her maiden name. Originating in the 17th century, it is a contraction of ''mistress''. Piyaporn Deejing ( th, ปิยะภรณ์ ดีจริง), nicknamed Deer ( th, เดียร์) (born August 4, 1988 in Bangkok) is a Thai model and beauty pageant titleholder. She joined the Miss Thailand Universe 2008; she won first runner-up and was also crowned Miss Thailand Earth on May 24, 2008 in Bangkok, Thailand. An Economics student, she stands 173 cm tall and she represented Thailand in Miss Earth 2008 in Philippines and Miss International 2010 in China. Miss Earth 2008 In the final competition of the eighth edition of the international beauty pageant Miss Earth, Deejing was announced as one of sixteen semi-finalists who moved forward to compete for the title. Miss Thailand Universe 2006
Miss Thailand Universe 2006, the 7th Miss Thailand Universe pageant held at Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok, in Bangkok, Thailand on March 25, 2006. The 44 contestants arrived in Nakhon Sawan to do some activities a week earlier before coming back to Bangkok to compete in the final round. In the final round, broadcast live on BBTV Channel 7, Charm Onwarin Osathanond, was crowned Miss Thailand Universe 2006 by Natalie Glebova, Miss Universe 2005 from Canada. Charm Onwarin Osathanond represented Thailand in Miss Universe 2006 pageant in Los Angeles, United States. Charm Osathanond ( th, ชาม โอสถานนท์, born 1987) is a Thai actress, model and host who won the Miss Thailand Universe pageant in 2006. Biography Charm Osathanond is an only child who was raised in Nonthaburi near Bangkok In 2005, she graduated from International School Bangkok, which was where she befriended a Thai singer, Lydia. Apasra Hongsakula
Apasra Hongsakula ( th, อาภัสรา หงสกุล, , ; born January 16, 1947) is a Thai businesswoman and beauty queen who won the title of Miss Universe 1965. She is a daughter of Group Captain Perm and Kayoon Hongsakula. She was the first woman from Thailand and the first Southeast Asian to win the Miss Universe title. Biography Apasra was born and raised in Bangkok, but she was sent to learn English at a girls secondary school in Penang, Malaysia. She married the first cousin of Queen Sirikit, by whom she has a son. The marriage ended long ago in divorce, but she remains a revered social figure in the country.
