Miss Teen USA 2000
Miss Teen USA 2000, the 18th Miss Teen USA pageant, was televised live from Shreveport, Louisiana on August 26, 2000. At the conclusion of the final competition, Jillian Parry of Pennsylvania was crowned by outgoing queen Ashley Coleman of Delaware. The pageant was hosted by newcomer Brian McFayden with color commentary by Ali Landry and Julie Moran for the third year. Landry held the Miss Louisiana Teen USA 1990, Miss Louisiana USA 1996 and Miss USA 1996 titles, making the semi-finals at Miss Teen USA 1990 pageant before winning Miss USA 1996. During the pageant there were performances by Rachel Lampa, 98 Degrees and Westlife. Host city The pageant was held in Shreveport, Louisiana for the third consecutive year. Following the event, officials in indicated that they were reluctant to host the pageant for a fourth year because disorganization by the Miss Universe Organization meant that the city lost over $70,000 in expected revenue. Jillian Parry
Jillian Parry (born January 31, 1982) is a former Miss Teen USA, having held the title for the year 2000, representing her home town of Newtown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Newtown and state of Pennsylvania. She was the first titleholder from Pennsylvania to win the national competition. Parry entered the Miss Pennsylvania Teen USA pageant on a whim, after a postcard was dropped in her mail, and won on her first attempt. Parry represented her state at the Miss Teen USA pageant televised live from Shreveport, Louisiana on August 26, 2000. Parry won the pageant and was crowned Miss Teen USA 2000 based on her answer to the final interview question, and she came in first place in the evening gown competition. Kristen Johnson is an escape artist who works with her husband magician Kevin Ridgeway under the names ''Living Illusions, Ridgeway & Johnson and Breathless''. Miss Missouri Teen USA
The Miss Missouri Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Missouri in the Miss Teen USA pageant. It is directed by Vanbros and Associates, based in Lenexa, Kansas. In 1993, Missouri joined the Vanbros group of state pageants for the Miss USA and Teen USA system. Missouri is in the top 10 most successful states at Miss Teen USA in terms of number and value of placements. Six Missouri teens have gone on to compete at Miss USA, although only four as Miss Missouri USA. The other two represented Kansas, another Vanbros state. Miss Indiana Teen USA
The Miss Indiana Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Indiana in the Miss Teen USA pageant. This pageant is currently produced by CROWN MOXIE, LLC headed by JScot Reid. It was formerly produced by MOXIE Media Productions and Sanders & Associates based in Buckhannon, West Virginia before MOXIE Media Productions. Indiana had a slow start at Miss Teen USA, and did not place until 1991. That placement became the first of a four-year streak, which included three semi-finalist and one 1st runner-up placings. Six Indiana teens have gone on to win the Miss Indiana USA crown, more than most other states. The Miss Washington Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Washington in the Miss Teen USA pageant. Washington is one of the more successful states at Miss Teen USA, having placed on eight occasions. Their highest placement came in 1985, when Dru Homer placed 2nd runner-up to Kelly Hu of Hawaii. The Miss Georgia Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Georgia in the Miss Teen USA pageant.
