Miss Rwanda 2018, the 8th edition of the Miss Rwanda pageant, was held on February 24, 2018 at Camp Kigali Grounds in the province of Kigali. The winner, Liliane Iradukunda of Western Province succeeded Elsa Iradukunda of Western Province. Western Province, Rwanda
Western Province ( rw, Intara y'Iburengerazuba; french: Province de l'Ouest; nl, West-provincie) is one of Rwanda's five provinces. It was created in early January 2006 as part of a government decentralization program that re-organized the country's local government structures. Miss (pronounced ) is an English language honorific typically used for a girl, for an unmarried woman (when not using another title such as "Doctor" or "Dame"), or for a married woman retaining her maiden name. Originating in the 17th century, it is a contraction of ''mistress''. Its counterparts are Mrs., used for a married women who has taken her husband's name, and Ms., which can be used for married or unmarried women. The plural ''Misses'' may be used, such as in ''The Misses Doe''. Miss Rwanda is a national beauty pageant in Rwanda. Gilbert Rwabigwi is a Rwandan social innovator and writer who specialises in literacy, strategy, writing and progress. He is the founder of Youth Literacy Organisation (YouLI), a non-profit NGO whose mission is to foster literacy and learning as a lifelong process.
