Miss Russia 2015 the 23rd edition of the Miss Russia pageant, was held on April 18, 2015 at the Bravikha Luxury Village Concert Hall, where fifty contestants from different oblasts competed for the crown. Sofia Viktorovna Nikitchuk (russian: София Викторовна Никитчук; born 20 October 1993) is a Russian actress, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Russia 2015 and represented her country at the Miss World 2015 pageant. Personal life Was born on 20 October 1993 in Snezhinsk, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia. Her mother Tatiana was a doctor, while father Viktor served in Russian military. Miss World 2008, the 58th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 13 December 2008 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. Originally, the pageant was going to take place in Kyiv, Ukraine, but because of the ongoing 2008 Russo-Georgian diplomatic crisis in neighbouring South Ossetia, the Miss World Organization decided to move the pageant away from Eastern Europe. 109 contestants from all over the world compete for the crown, the second highest turnout in the 59 years of the pageant. Miss Russia 2007 was held on December 14, 2007, at Gostinom Yard, Moscow, Russia. Tatiana Kotova of Rostov-on-Don crowned her successor Ksenia Sukhinova of Tyumen as the new Miss Russia. Riyo Mori and Zhang Zilin participated in the event. Ksenia Sukhinova competed in the Miss World 2008 pageant, and was crowned the winner. Although she was not the winner of the national pageant, the Miss Russia organization decided to send the second runner-up, Vera Krasova, to the Miss Universe 2008 pageant held in Nha Trang, Vietnam, where she made it to the top five finalists. Ksenia Vladimirovna Sukhinova (russian: Ксе́ния Влади́мировна Сухи́нова; born 26 August 1987) is a Russian model, television host and beauty queen who was crowned Miss World 2008. She was the second Russian woman to be crowned Miss World, and had previously been crowned Miss Russia 2007. Personal life Sukhinova was born 1987 in Nizhnevartovsk, Russian SFSR. Tatiana Nikolaevna Kotova (russian: Татьяна Николаевна Котова; born 3 September 1985) is a Russian singer, actress, and television personality. She is the winner of the title Miss Russia 2006 and former soloist of Ukrainian female pop group ''Nu Virgos''. In 2006 she won the title of Miss Russia and had the opportunity to represent Russia in the contests Miss World 2007 and Miss Universe 2007. Miss Universe 2002, the 51st Miss Universe pageant, was held on May 29, 2002, at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico. 75 delegates competed in this year. Oxana Fedorova of Russia was crowned by Denise Quiñones of Puerto Rico as her successor at the end of the event. Fedorova was dethroned four months later, ostensibly because she could not travel to fulfill her duties, and first runner-up Justine Pasek of Panama took over the Miss Universe title. To date, the 2002 pageant is the only time the 1st runner-up has assumed the title when the reigning Miss Universe became incapable of fulfilling her duties, as explained in the disclaimer traditionally read out by hosts before announcing the winner in the live show.
