Miss Nicaragua 2003
The Miss Nicaragua 2003 pageant, was held on March 1, 2003 in Managua, after several weeks of events. At the conclusion of the final night of competition, Claudia Salmerón from Tipitapa won the title. She represented Nicaragua at Miss Universe 2003 held in Panama Panama ( , ; es, link=no, Panamá ), officially the Republic of Panama ( es, República de Panamá), is a transcontinental country spanning the southern part of North America and the northern part of South America. Tipitapa
Tipitapa is a city and Municipalities of Nicaragua, municipality in the Managua (department), Managua Departments of Nicaragua, department of western Nicaragua. The area is located between Lake Managua and Lake Nicaragua. History Tipitapa began as a settlement of local tribes. The first settlers were the Chorotegas, who populated central Nicaragua and especially the location between two lakes. Over time, the Chorotegas were divided into two rival gangs, the Dirianes and Nagrandanos. The kingdom of Dirianes was the jurisdiction to which it belonged. Miss Nicaragua
Miss Nicaragua is an American beauty pageant that has been held annually since 1955 to select the entrant from Nicaragua in the Miss Universe and since 2023 to select the entrant to Miss Charm International pageant. Until 2001 when the model agency Siluetas announces that the most important beauty pageant in the country will be operated by Karen Celebertti. The current Miss Nicaragua is Norma Huembes of San Marcos, who was crowned on August 6, 2022 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Convention Center Managua in Managua, Nicaragua. Participants Participants for the Miss Nicaragua contest must be between 18 and 28 years old, not married, and have no children. Rivas () is a city and municipality in southwestern Nicaragua on the Isthmus of the same name.
