Miss New Mexico
The Miss New Mexico competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of New Mexico in the Miss America pageant. Kaitlin Kerl of Albuquerque was crowned Miss New Mexico 2022 on June 11, 2022 at the Flickinger Center of Performing Arts in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She competed for the title of Miss America 2023 at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut in December 2022. Miss USA is an American beauty pageant that has been held annually since 1952 to select the entrant from United States in the Miss Universe pageant. The Miss Universe Organization operated both pageants, as well as Miss Teen USA, until 2020, when the organization announced it was licensing operation of the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants to Crystle Stewart, Miss USA for 2008. The pageant was owned by Donald Trump from 1996 to 2015 and was previously broadcast on NBC. In September 2015, WME/IMG purchased the pageant from Trump. The Miss America 2019 pageant/competition was the 92nd Miss America pageant, though the Miss America Organization celebrated its 98th anniversary in 2018. This discrepancy is due to national pageants not being held from 1928–1932 or in 1934 because of financial problems associated with the Great Depression. The 2019 competition was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey. On May 23, 2018, it was announced that the pageant would air live on ABC on Sunday, September 9, 2018. "Let's Get Loud" is a song by American singer Jennifer Lopez for her debut studio album, ''On the 6'' (1999).
