Miss Namibia
The Miss Namibia is an annual national beauty pageant in Namibia. The winner will represent Namibia at Miss Universe pageant. The organization of Miss Namibia has produced one Miss Universe. Michelle McLean was crowned Miss Universe 1992, and became the first Namibian woman to win the title. McLean had been crowned Miss Namibia 1991 before Miss Universe, and also placed as the fourth runner-up at Miss World 1991. History The first Miss Namibia was held in 1980 by Nic Kruger, the founder of the pageant. After that there are three national directors: Nic Kruger (1980–1996), Danie Botes (1997–1998) and Conny Maritz (1999–today). The first Miss Namibia was organised by the Afrikaans newspaper ''Die Republikein'' in 1980 and conducted by Nic Kruger, the founding director of the pageant. Beauty Pageant
A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Pageant titles are subdivided into Miss, Mrs. or Ms., and Teen – to clearly identify the difference between pageant divisions. Hundreds and thousands of beauty contests are held annually, but the Big Four are considered the most prestigious, widely covered and broadcast by media. Khomas Region
Khomas is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia. Its name refers to the Khomas Highland, a high plateau landscape that dominates this administrative unit. Khomas is centered on the capital city Windhoek and provides for this reason superior transportation infrastructure. It is located in the central highlands of the country and is bordered by the Erongo region to the west and the northwest and by the Otjozondjupa region to the north. To the east is the Omaheke region, while in the south is the Hardap region. The region is characterized by its hilly countrysize and many valleys. It has well-developed economical, financial, and trade sectors. Khomas Region occupies 4.5% of the land area of Namibia but has the highest population of any of its regions (16.2%). Nadja Breytenbach
Nadja Breytenbach is a Namibian model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned the title of Miss Namibia 2019. She represented Namibia during Miss Universe 2019. Pageantry On 6 July 2019, Breytenbach first participated at Miss Namibia 2019 competition. She won the pageant which was held at Windhoek Country Club Resort and Casino in Windhoek. Her court included Julita-Kitwe Mbangula was chosen as the first runner-up while Johanna Swartbooi was selected the second runner-up. She was crowned by the outgoing titleholder Selma Kamanya, Miss Namibia 2018. Kavango East
Kavango East is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia. Its capital is Rundu, its governor is Bonifatius Wakudumo. The Region was created in 2013 when the Kavango Region was split into Kavango East and Kavango West. The only self-governed settlements in Kavango East are the capital Rundu and the village of Divundu. The region contains the western half of the Caprivi Strip. In the north, Kavango East borders the Cuando Cubango Province of Angola, and in the south and southeast the North-West District of Botswana. Selma Carlicia Kamanya (born December 31, 1996, in Windhoek) is a Namibian model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Namibia 2018 on July 7, 2018. She represented Namibia at Miss Universe 2018 pageant. Personal life Kamanya lives in Windhoek, Namibia. Hardap
Hardap is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia, its capital is Mariental. Hardap contains the municipality of Mariental, the towns Rehoboth and Aranos, and the self-governed villages Gibeon, Gochas, Kalkrand, Stampriet and Maltahöhe. It is home to the Hardap Dam. Hardap stretches the entire width of Namibia, from the Atlantic Ocean in the west to Namibia's eastern national border. Paulina Malulu
Paulina Malulu (born 28 April 1989) is a Namibian model and beauty pageant titleholder who represented Namibia and participated at the Big Four international beauty pageants. She competed in Miss International 2012 and was in the Top 15. She went on to compete for Miss World 2013 and Miss Universe 2013 and Miss Earth 2014. Born in exile, shortly before independence, Malulu grew up in Windhoek. After completing her high school education, Malulu studied health and skincare and also has a qualification in tour guiding. Oshikoto
Oshikoto is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia, named after Lake Otjikoto. Its capital is Omuthiya.
