Miss Grand Zimbabwe
Miss Grand Zimbabwe was a Zimbabwean female national beauty pageant founded in 2013 by former Miss Zimbabwe Samantha Tshuma. The contest's winners represent the country at the Miss Grand International pageant. In 2014, Tshuma relinquished her post as director for her partner, Chris Vukani Mhlanga. After two consecutive years of scandal, the partnership with Miss Grand International was terminated the following year and the license was later purchased by Culvin Mavunga in 2016 but no representative was sent that year. Zimbabwe only participated in the Miss Grand International pageant in 2013 and 2014, one of them, Samantha Thsuma Miss Grand Zimbabwe 2013, was named the final-20. A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Matabeleland North is a Provinces of Zimbabwe, province in western Zimbabwe. Miss Grand Zimbabwe 2013
Miss Grand Zimbabwe 2013 was the first edition of the Miss Grand Zimbabwe pageant, held on July 13, 2013, at the Gardens Restaurant in the Zimbabwe second largest city, Bulawayo. Sixteen candidates from different cities and provinces competed for the title, of whom a third-year media student from Zimbabwe Open University representing Bulawayo, Fungai Mawada, was announced the winner and obtained the right to represent the country at the inaugural of the Miss Grand International pageant in Thailand; however, Mawada was dethroned and the national director, Samantha Tshuma, nominated herself as the replacement. Bulawayo (, ; Ndebele: ''Bulawayo'') is the second largest city in Zimbabwe, and the largest city in the country's Matabeleland region. The city's population is disputed; the 2022 census listed it at 665,940, while the Bulawayo City Council claimed it to be about 1.2 million.
