Miss Grand Paraguay 2017
Miss Grand Paraguay 2017 was the first edition of the Miss Grand Paraguay pageant, held on July 29, 2017, at the Agustin Pio Barrios Theater in Japanese Paraguayan Center. Sixteen candidates competed for the title, of whom Lía Duarte Ashmore from the Guairá Department was named the winner, and later represented Paraguay at in Vietnam, where she was placed among the top 20 finalists. Alto Paraná
The musical term alto, meaning "high" in Italian (Latin: ''altus''), historically refers to the contrapuntal part higher than the tenor and its associated vocal range. In 4-part voice leading alto is the second-highest part, sung in choruses by either low women's or high men's voices. Lia Aymara "Leah" Duarte Ashmore (born 5 April 1995) is a Paraguayan model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Paraguay 2022. As Miss Universe Paraguay, Ashmore represented Paraguay at Miss Universe 2022. She was previously crowned as Miss Grand Paraguay 2017 and represented Paraguay at the Miss Grand International 2017 where she finished in the Top 20. Miss Grand Paraguay 2018 was the second edition of the Miss Grand Paraguay pageant, held on June 9, 2018, at the Theater of the Americas, Paraguayan-American Cultural Center (CCPA) in Asunción. Fifteen national delegates, either determined through the regional pageant or through central casting, competed for the right to represent the country at Miss Grand International 2018, of whom the representative of Asunción, Clara Sosa, was elected the winner. San Pedro () is a department of Paraguay. The capital is the city of San Pedro de Ycuamandiyú.
