Miss Universe Dominicana 2000 was held on March 25, 2000. There were 54 candidates, representing provinces and municipalities, who entered. The winner would represent the Dominican Republic at Miss Universe 2000. The Miss Mundo Dominicana would enter Miss World 2000. The Miss Internacional Dominicana would enter in Miss International 2000 Miss International 2000, the 40th anniversary of the Miss International pageant, was held on October 4, 2000 at the Koseinenkin Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Gilda Jovine
Gilda Gross (born February 10, 1981, in Santo Domingo) commonly known as Gilda Jovine is a Dominican actress, model and beauty pageant titleholder. She was born and raised in Santo Domingo to a businessman from the United States and a businesswoman from Constanza. Jovine was inspired by her grandmother, one of the first dressmakers for Oscar De La Renta. Jovine began modeling at age 15 and has participated in fashion shows in the Dominican Republic, New York City, and Puerto Rico. She has also appeared in magazines, billboards, and catalogs, and has acted in several television commercials. Baní is a capital town of the Peravia Province, Dominican Republic. It is the commercial and manufacturing center in the southern region of Valdesia. It is divided into 10 municipalities (the same as Santiago) and its capital city is Azua de Compostela. Nagua
Nagua is the capital of María Trinidad Sánchez province, in the northeastern Dominican Republic. A medium-sized town, Nagua's economy relies on the production of agricultural products, principally rice, coconuts, and cocoa bean. Located on the north of the Samaná Peninsula, Nagua lies on the highway leading from Puerto Plata to the city of Samaná. Location Most of the town lies below sea level, which some believe makes Nagua susceptible to flooding that could destroy a substantial part of the town.
