Miss Connecticut USA
Miss Connecticut USA is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Connecticut in the Miss USA pageant, and the name of the title held by its winner. The pageant is directed by Ewald Productions. Connecticut's most successful placement was in 2013, when Erin Brady was crowned Miss USA. Connecticut's most recent placement was in 2022, when Cynthia Dias placed in the Top 12. The current titleholder is Cynthia Dias of Wolcott, Connecticut and was crowned on April 10, 2022 at Windsor, Connecticut. Dias represented Connecticut at Miss USA 2022, she won the online vote to enter in the Top 16 and placed at the Top 12. Miss America
Miss America is an annual competition that is open to women from the United States between the ages of 17 and 25. Originating in 1921 as a "bathing beauty revue", the contest is now judged on competitors' talent performances and interviews. As of 2018, there is no longer a swimsuit portion to the contest, or consideration of physical appearance. Miss America travels about 20,000 miles a month, changing her location every 24 to 48 hours, touring the nation and promoting her particular platform of interest. The winner is crowned by the previous year's titleholder. The current Miss America is Grace Stanke of Wisconsin, who was crowned Miss America 2023 on December 15, 2022. Miss USA 2019
Miss USA 2019 was the 68th Miss USA pageant. It was held at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, on May 2, 2019. Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey served as hosts, while Lu Sierra served as commentator, all for the second consecutive time and was broadcast on Fox. Additionally, it featured performances from T-Pain and Nick Lachey. Sarah Rose Summers of Nebraska crowned her successor Cheslie Kryst of North Carolina at the end of the event. This was North Carolina's third time winning the Miss USA title, and the first title in 10 years. Kryst was the first non-consecutive African American to win the title and the third one in four years. Kryst represented the United States at Miss Universe 2019 and placed in the Top 10. Miss USA 2014 was the 63rd Miss USA pageant, held at the Raising Cane's River Center Arena in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on June 8, 2014. All fifty states and the District of Columbia competed. The preliminary competition was not webcast live for the first time in five years, but excerpts were distributed post-competition via website Hulu. The final night of competition was televised on NBC. Erin Brady of Connecticut, crowned her successor Nia Sanchez of Nevada. This was Nevada's first Miss USA title. Miss USA 2016 was the 65th Miss USA pageant. It was held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 5, 2016. Terrence J and Julianne Hough all hosted for the first time, while Ashley Graham served as the backstage host. All fifty states and the District of Columbia competed. Olivia Jordan of Oklahoma crowned her successor, Deshauna Barber of the District of Columbia, at the end of the event. The Miss Connecticut Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Connecticut in the Miss Teen USA pageant. The state pageant directors are: *Crown Productions from 2003 to 2008 *Sanders & Associates, Inc., dba- Pageant Associates based in Buckhannon, West Virginia from 2009 to 2017 *Five Crown Pageant Productions based in Washington, D.C. from 2018 to 2019 *Ewald Productions from 2020 Connecticut has been one of the least successful states at Miss Teen USA.
