Miss Aruba is a national beauty pageant in Aruba. The pageant was founded in 1964, where the winners were sent to Miss Universe. History Under the direction of New Star Promotion Organization since 1992, Aruba has been accumulating positive results, with Taryn Mansell placing as first runner-up in 1996 at Miss Universe and Tamara Scaroni, becoming the first Aruban to receive the Miss Congeniality award in 2000; representatives placing as semifinalists in 1990, 1996, 2002, along with a first runner-up in 2001 at Miss World; and another semifinalist in Miss International 2001, three Best National Costume awards in 2000, 2007, 2008 and a first runner-up placement in 1994 at Miss International. Beauty Pageant
A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Pageant titles are subdivided into Miss, Mrs. or Ms., and Teen – to clearly identify the difference between pageant divisions. Hundreds and thousands of beauty contests are held annually, but the Big Four are considered the most prestigious, widely covered and broadcast by media. Miss International 2008
Miss International 2008, the 48th Miss International pageant, was held on November 8, 2008 at The Venetian Macao in Macau, the presenters are Eric Tsang, Dodo Cheng, Astrid Chan. 63 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown, marking the biggest turnout in the 48 years of the pageant, surpassing the previous of 61 during last year pageant. Miss Universe 2020
Miss Universe 2020 was the 69th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States on May 16, 2021. At the end of the event, Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa crowned Andrea Meza of Mexico as Miss Universe 2020. It is Mexico's first victory in 10 years, and the third victory of the country in the pageant's history. Contestants from 74 countries and territories competed in this year's pageant, featuring the smallest number of candidates at the pageant since 2003. Miss Universe 2021
Miss Universe 2021 was the 70th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Universe Dome in Eilat, Israel on December 13, 2021. At the end of the event, Andrea Meza of Mexico crowned Harnaaz Sandhu of India as Miss Universe 2021. It is India's first victory in 21 years, and the third victory of the country in the pageant's history. Sandhu became the first ever Sikh to win the title of Miss Universe, and the first contestant born in the 2000s to win in any of the Big Four international beauty pageants. Miss Universe 2022 will be the 71st Miss Universe pageant, to be held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States on January 14, 2023. Harnaaz Sandhu of India will crown her successor at the end of the event. Contestants from 84 countries and territories will compete in this year's pageant. The competition will be hosted by Jeannie Mai and Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo; Culpo last served as host during Miss Universe 2020, while Mai last served as backstage correspondent during Miss Universe 2014. Miss Universe 2023 will be the 72nd Miss Universe pageant to be held on late 2023 in El Salvador. R'Bonney Gabriel of the United States will crown her successor at the end of the event. Background Location and date On 14 January 2023, Salvadoran president Nayib Bukele announced that this edition will be held in El Salvador before the end of 2023, the last time it was hosted in 1975, making the return of hosting the event in Latin America since 2011.
