Tarik Ali Mishlawi, known by his stage name Mishlawi, is an American people, American hip-hop performing artist, who grew up in Portugal. Dubbed as ''"Portuguese hip hop, Portuguese Hip Hop's revelation"'' by La Vanguardia, and commonly referred to as a ''"TransAtlantic talent"'', Mishlawi started his musical career on YouTube, before he was discovered by Richie Campbell (singer), Richie Campbell and subsequently signed to Bridgetown Records, and later by Universal music and Island records. Mishlawi has become a popular performing artist at many of Portugal's prominent music festivals, including the world famous MEO Sudoeste festival. Ricardo Dias de Lima Ventura da Costa (born 25 November 1986), more commonly known by his stagename Richie Campbell, is a Portuguese R&B, dancehall and reggae singer. He is considered a leading figure in the Portuguese music scene. Early life and career beginnings Richie Campbell was born Ricardo Dias de Lima Ventura da Costa, in the city of Lisbon. MEO Sudoeste
The Sudoeste Festival (), currently named MEO Sudoeste for sponsorship reasons, is a music festival that takes places annually since 1997, in August, in Odemira, in the southwest of Portugal. It is organized by live entertainment company Música no Coração and is currently sponsored by the Portuguese telecommunications company MEO. The festival started as a rock festival. Over the years, it has featured a considerable variety of headliners, such as Marylin Manson, Blur, Sonic Youth, The Cure, UB40, Massive Attack, Kraftwerk, Oasis, Daft Punk, Björk, Faith No More, Snoop Dogg and Kanye West.
