The Kinks

Black Messiah (song)
"Black Messiah" is the third track from the Kinks' 1978 album ''Misfits''. It was written by Ray Davies. Lyrics The lyrics of "Black Messiah" cite racial and civil differences and unrest. The lead singer is a white man who lives in an all black neighborhood. This causes unrest, with the singer claiming that "they knock me down 'cos they brown and I white". Sir Raymond Douglas Davies ( ; born 21 June 1944) is an English musician. He was the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and main songwriter for the rock band the Kinks, which he led with his younger brother Dave on lead guitar and backing vocals. "Live Life" is a track from The Kinks' 1978 album, ''Misfits''. The track was written by The Kinks' primary songwriter, Ray Davies. About The lyrics of the song, in a similar theme to many other tracks written by Ray Davies, say that, no matter what's happening in the world, you must pick yourself up (since no one else is going to help you).
