Mirta Gloria Yáñez Quiñoa is a Cuban philologist, teacher and writer. She graduated from high school in Raúl Cepero Bonilla Special Pre-university Institute where she was considered a high-performing student. Philology () is the study of language in oral and written historical sources; it is the intersection of textual criticism, literary criticism, history, and linguistics (with especially strong ties to etymology).
