"Mirror Mirror" is a song recorded by Norwegian pop duo M2M, composed of singers Marion Raven and Marit Larsen. It was the second single from their debut album, ''Shades of Purple''. The song reached No. 13 in Canada, No. 30 in Australia, and No. 62 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. It was certified gold in the US, selling over 600,000 units. Chuck Taylor gave the song a positive review, calling it "a true champion, oozing youthful pop charm with production that's compelling and sophisticated enough to appeal to people well into their 30s", also praising the inclusion of the "Power Dance Mix" of the song included on the single. The song is about sadness following a lost love, and a young girl's despair after "saying the wrong thing to the right guy". M2M (band)
M2M were a Norwegian pop duo comprising Marit Larsen and Marion Raven. Larsen and Raven had been friends since the age of five, and formed a music duo when they were eight. They released a children's album in 1996 when Larsen was 12 and Raven was 11, under the name "Marit & Marion". The album was nominated for a Spellemannprisen award and the band changed their name to M2M after signing a record deal with Atlantic Records in 1998. M2M were frequently praised for writing most of their songs and performing their own instruments, something which was considered to set them aside from the majority of teen pop music artists. Their debut single, " Don't Say You Love Me" (1999), was both a critical and commercial success, and remained their biggest hit. Jam! was a Canadian website which covers entertainment news. It was part of the Canoe.com online portal, formerly owned and operated by Quebecor through its Sun Media division, and now owned by Postmedia Network. Jam! was the only media outlet that published a comprehensive collection of the official Canadian record charts as compiled by Nielsen SoundScan and Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems. CKXT-TV, Sun Media's television station in Toronto, aired a nightly entertainment magazine series, ''Inside Jam!''. However, due to low ratings the program's airtime was reduced substantially.
