''Mirror Master'' is the fourth studio album by the American alternative rock band Young the Giant. It was released on October 12, 2018, through Elektra Records. Background If their previous album, ''Home of the Strange'', is about the political issues in America, then ''Mirror Master'' is quite clearly about the personal—the internal. In an interview with billboard.com, Sameer Gadhia, lead vocalist and lyricist, explains this more in depth. The name ''Mirror Master'' comes from the idea that "You look at yourself in the mirror every day and you see a different version of yourself". Gadhia goes on to explain: In tracks such as "Superposition", "Call Me Back", and "You + I", Sameer explores relationships and the contrast between the bliss and the complexities one can find therein. Young The Giant
Young the Giant is an American rock band that formed in Irvine, California, in 2004. The band's line-up consists of Sameer Gadhia (lead vocals), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass guitar), and Francois Comtois (drums). Formerly known as The Jakes, Young the Giant was signed by Roadrunner Records in 2009, and they released their eponymous debut album in 2010. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". ''Home of the Strange'' is the third studio album by American alternative rock band Young the Giant, released by Fueled by Ramen on August 12, 2016. Promotion On April 15, 2016, the band released "Amerika" as an announcement track to the new album. The next song to be released, " Something to Believe In", was released as the first official radio single from the album. On May 16, 2016, they announced the Home of the Strange Tour, which started in the West Coast on August 13, and toured around the US. Three additional tracks, "Titus Was Born", "Jungle Youth" and "Silvertongue", were released the weeks preceding the release of ''Home of the Strange''. Lyrics ''Home of the Strange'' deals with the band's immigrant history and American identity. Lead singer Sameer Gadhia is a first generation American of Indian heritage. "Superposition" is a song by American alternative rock band Young the Giant, promoted as the second single off of the band's fourth album, ''Mirror Master''. It was released on August 23, 2018, through Elektra Records. Background and recording Beyond the original version, two remakes were released: the first one was dubbed "Superposition (Reprise)", recorded in a single day in the Layman Drug Company Studio in Nashville, and uploaded to YouTube on January 16, 2019 while the second was named "Superposition (Reflection)" and posted online on April 12, 2019. On social media posts, the band has described "Superposition" as "a song about quantum physics that has defied odds". On the ''Reprise'' version, they stated it is "a deconstructed negative of the original: a flipper zip on the double helix". David Andrew Sitek (born September 6, 1972) is an American musician and record producer, known for his work with his band TV on the Radio.
