Mirosława Nykiel
Mirosława Nykiel, née Bulwan (born September 23, 1953, in Wańkowa), is a Polish politician, manager, and teacher. She served as a senator in the 6th term and as a member of the Sejm in the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th terms. She is also a member of the European Parliament in the 10th term. Biography In 1983, she graduated with a degree in pedagogy from the Faculty of Pedagogy and Arts at the University of Silesia (located in Cieszyn), and later pursued postgraduate studies in Polish philology at the Teacher Training Center in Katowice (1987) and in European integration at the Tischner European University in Kraków (2004). In 2013, she completed her doctoral studies at the Collegium of Socio-Economics at the Warsaw School of Economics. In 1980, she joined "Solidarity." From 1973 to 1990, she worked as a cultural worker and Polish language teacher. In the 1990s, she worked at Ruch S.A., and from 2000 to 2001, she served as the company's CEO. A bracket is either of two tall fore- or back-facing punctuation marks commonly used to isolate a segment of text or data from its surroundings. Poland (European Parliament Constituency)
In European elections, the member state of Poland is subdivided into constituencies. However, the number of seats in each subconstituency is not decided until ''after'' the election. Poland therefore is sometimes treated as a single constituency for purposes of reportage. 2004 The 2004 European election was the sixth election to the European Parliament. However, as Poland had only joined the European Union earlier that month, it was the first election European election held in that state. The election took place on 13 June. The elections resulted in a heavy defeat for the governing Alliance of the Democratic Left and Labor Union parties, although the very low turnout makes a direct comparison with national election results difficult. European Parliament Committee On Industry, Research And Energy
The Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) is a committee of the European Parliament. Its areas of responsibility relate to industry, especially technology-intensive manufacturing, information technology, and telecommunications. It also coordinates European space policy and therefore has ties with the European Space Agency. It has oversight duties in relation to the Joint Research Centre and the Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements, as well as similar projects. In the past, the ITRE committee also dealt with transport matters. However this policy field has been transferred over to a dedicated Parliament's Committee on Transport and Tourism.
