Mirjam Tuokkola
Mirjam Tuokkola (born 7 February 1997) is a Finnish archer who participated in the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics. She started archery in 2007 and her other career highlights include a silver medal in the 2012 World Field Archery Championships in Junior Women's Recurve and several other Finnish championships in different age categories. Her club is Teuvan Jousiampujat. She broke the Finnish youth record with a score of 633 and won bronze in the mixed international team event with Canadian Eric Peters. In the girls' individual event, she was eliminated in round 32. Her aim for the 2015 archery season was to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics. World Archery Championships
The World Archery Championships are a series of competitions in Archery organised by the World Archery Federation (WA). The first competition held under that title took place in 1931. Competition archery takes a wide variety of formats, but the title World Championships is commonly reserved for the following three events: # Outdoor World Championships in target Archery # Indoor World Championships in target Archery # World Championships in field Archery. Of these, the Outdoor World Championships in target Archery is most commonly referred to as simply the 'World Archery Championships', and the winners most commonly referred to as simply "world champions". Youth Olympic Games
The Youth Olympic Games (YOG) is an international multi-sport event for athletes between 15 and 18 years old, organized by the International Olympic Committee. The games are held every four years in staggered summer and winter events consistent with the current Olympic Games format, though in reverse order with Olympic Winter Games held in leap years instead of Summer Olympic Games. Archery At The 2014 Summer Youth Olympics – Girls' Individual
The girls' individual archery event at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 22 to 25 August 2014 at the Fangshan Sports Training Base in Nanjing, China. One of three recurve archery events which comprised the archery programme, it was the second time the girls' individual discipline was contested at Summer Youth Olympics. Thirty-two archers from thirty-two countries entered the competition, which was open to female archers born between 1 January 1997 and 31 December 1999. The defending champion was South Korea's Kwak Ye-ji, who was unable to defend her title due to the age limitations imposed on the event. Li Jiaman of China defeated France's Melanie Gaubil in a one-arrow shoot-off in the final to win the gold medal. As runner-up Gaubil received the silver medal. South Korea's Lee Eun-gyeong, who was seeded first and set a new junior world record in the 72-arrow round, defeated Ana Machado of Brazil to win the bronze medal. Archery At The 2016 Summer Olympics
The archery events at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro were held over a seven-day period from 6 to 12 August. Four events took place, all were staged at the Sambadrome Marquês de Sapucaí. Competition format A total of 128 athletes compete across the four events: the men's individual, women's individual, men's team and women's team. All four events were recurve archery events, held under the World Archery-approved 70-meter distance and rules. The competition started with an initial ranking round involving all 64 archers of each gender. Each archer would shoot a total of 72 arrows to be seeded from 1–64 according to their score. The ranking round was also used to seed the teams from 1 to 12, by aggregating the individual scores for the members of each team.
