Miriam Tey De Salvador
Miriam Tey (born 16 December 1960) is a Spanish editor, writer and political activist. She served as vice-president of the Societat Civil Catalana until replaced by Álex Ramos year 2019 and is an outspoken opponent of Catalan nationalism and the separatist movement. Personal life Miriam Tey was born in Barcelona, Spain on December 16, 1960. She has one adult son. Tey is the sister-in-law of diplomat, Jorge Moragas. Career Tey began working at the publishing house, Tusquets Editores, when she was 19 years old. After working at Tusquets Editores, she worked as the literary director at the publishing house, Columna Edicions. While working at Columna Edicions, Tey founded Ediciones del Bronce, a publisher of foreign books translated into Spanish. After leaving Columna Edicions, Tey founded El Cobre Ediciones. Societat Civil Catalana
Societat Civil Catalana ("Catalan Civil Society", SCC by its Catalan acronym) is a Barcelona-based grass-roots organisation that was created in 2014 with the aim of promoting Catalonia’s union to Spain. Most of SCC activities seek to counter the Catalan independence movement. SCC was officially launched on 23 April 2014. Structure Fernando Sánchez Costa is the current president, since June 26, 2019. Former presidents have been Rafael Arenas, Mariano Gomà, and Josep Ramon Bosch. Catalan nationalism is the ideology asserting that the Catalans are a distinct nation. Intellectually, modern Catalan nationalism can be said to have commenced as a political philosophy in the unsuccessful attempts to establish a federal state in Spain in the context of the First Republic (1873-1874). Valentí Almirall i Llozer and other intellectuals that participated in this process set up a new political ideology in the 19th century, to restore self-government, as well as to obtain recognition for the Catalan language. Josep Ramon Bosch i Codina (born in Santpedor in 1963) is a businessman and Spanish Catalan political activist focused on supporting Spanish nationalism. He belonged to the People's Party (PP).
