Mircea Drăgan
Mircea Drăgan (3 October 1932 – 31 October 2017) was a Romanian film director. He directed 23 films between 1955 and 1992. His 1961 film ''Thirst (1961 film), Thirst'' was entered into the 2nd Moscow International Film Festival where it won the Silver Prize. Two years later, his film ''Lupeni 29'' was entered into the 3rd Moscow International Film Festival and it also won the Silver Prize. He was a member of the jury at the 4th Moscow International Film Festival. His 1973 film ''Explosion (1973 film), Explosion'' was entered into the 8th Moscow International Film Festival where it won a Diploma. The Column
''The Column'' ( ro, Columna) is a 1968 Romanian historical film directed by Mircea Drăgan. The film was selected as the Romanian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 41st Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee. The action starts near the end of Trajan's Dacian Wars (106 AD), when south western Dacia was transformed into a Roman province: Roman Dacia. It covers the years after the war, including the beginnings of the Romanization and Romanian ethnogenesis, the construction of Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa, resistance of the Free Dacians, and first barbarian invasions. Plot Part 1 As the Romans under Trajan take the Dacian capital Sarmizegetusa, the Dacian king Decebalus and his closest followers are forced to retreat. Trajan takes command of the city and orders one of his officers, Tiberius, to pursue the defeated king. ''Cuibul salamandrelor'', also known as ''Oil!'' and ''Oil - The Billion Dollar Fire'', is a 1977 Romanian-Italian action film directed by Mircea Drăgan. Plot An International petroleum company called Consolidated Oil covertly sets fire to an oil well in the Sahara because the government of the North African nation won't comply with their demands. Due to the extent of the damage, oil prices rise sharply. The company's president Mr. Stewart ( Ray Milland) assigns John Carter (Stuart Whitman) to deflect suspicion. However, when Carter arrives on location, a company representative hinders his efforts and implies to him that the fire was started on purpose. Consolidated Oil hires a Romanian firefighting crew with little experience in oil well fires, but the Romanian specialists team up with Carter and find proof of arson. ''Brigada'' (russian: Бригада), also known as ''Law of the Lawless'', is a Russian 15-episode crime television miniseries that debuted in 2002.
