Mircea Baniciu

	Mircea Baniciu Mircea Baniciu (; born 31 July 1949) is a Romanian musician, singer, and songwriter. Originally known as the lead singer of the Romanian rock group Transsylvania Phoenix, Baniciu quit the group when they illegally fled Romania for West Germany in 1977, continuing his career as a successful solo singer throughout the 1980s before forming a folk supergroup in 1992 with fellow musicians Mircea Vintilă, Vlady Cnejevici, and Florian Pittiș, with whom he had successfully toured Romania during the 1990s. Following the Romanian Revolution, Baniciu re-joined Transsylvania Phoenix as their lead singer, but, due to frequent disagreements with band leader Nicu Covaci, has performed and appeared on the group's albums irregularly, before finally quitting Phoenix permanently in 2007. In 2014, with fellow Phoenix bandmates Josef Kappl and Ovidiu Lipan "Țăndărică", Baniciu formed Pasărea Rock (i.e. "The Rock Bird"), a folk rock supergroup. Discography Solo discography: * Mircea ... 	Ovidiu Lipan Ovidiu Lipan 'Țăndărică' (born January 31,Cristea, Violeta.", Jurnalul Național, January 31, 2007. 1953 in Iași) is a Romanian drummer. He played between 1966 and 1975 with the Romanian rock band Roșu și Negru. In 1975 he joined Transsylvania Phoenix. In 1977 he settled in Germany, but after 1990 he moved back to Romania. Now he has solo projects and also plays with Pasărea Rock. 	Josef Kappl Josef Kappl (born 15 January 1950) is a Romanian-German multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter who is best known as one of the oldest members and bass players in the Romanian rock band Transsylvania Phoenix, initially performing with this band in Communist Romania starting from 1971 up until 1979. Born in Petrila, Hunedoara County, Romania in an ethnic German family (of Austro-Bavarian origin), Kappl was the bass player as well as one of the main members of the Romanian rock band Phoenix during the 1970s. He graduated from the Music Conservatory in Timișoara, Banat. He also played the violin and the recorder during his time with Trannsylvania Phoenix. 	Florian Pittiș Florian Pittiș (; 1943–2007) was a Romanian stage and television actor, theatre director, folk music singer, and radio producer. He attended the Gheorghe Lazăr High School in Bucharest and in 1968 he graduated from the Institute of Theatre. As a young actor he was hired at one of the best theatres in Bucharest, the Bulandra Theatre, where he worked with directors such as Andrei Șerban, Liviu Ciulei, Alexandru Tocilescu. In the early '70s he studied in Paris with the well-known mime artist, Marcel Marceau. In 1992, Pittiș was one of the founding members of the band Pasărea Colibri.
