Isabel Miramontes (born 1962) is a Spanish-born Belgian sculptor. She is known for disproportionate bronze sculptures of the human figure. Biography Miramontes was born in Santiago de Compostela. She obtained a diploma in fine arts at Institut Sainte Marie in Brussels. She continued her studies at the Fine Arts Academy of Saint-Gilles. Work Miramontes generally uses bronze as a medium in sculpture. She exhibits the human body's motion and splits it into strips, spirals and twisted forms, and this fluidity is contrasted by the face which is of blank expression. Matías Martín Miramontes (born 27 December 1981) is an Argentine footballer who plays as a left winger for Atlético Acebal in Argentina. Miramontes also holds European Union nationality. Rancho Miramontes (also called Arroyo de los Pilarcitos, Miramontes Rancho de San Benito, and Rancho San Benito) was a Mexican land grant in present-day San Mateo County, California given in 1841 by Governor Juan B. Alvarado to Juan Jose Candelario Miramontes. Arroyo de los Pilarcitos means "creek of little pillars." The grant extended along the Pacific coast from Pilarcitos Creek and present day Half Moon Bay south past Miramontes Point to Canada Verdes.
