Georges Hall, New South Wales
Georges Hall, a suburb of local government area City of Canterbury-Bankstown, is located 24 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district in the state of New South Wales, Australia, and is part of the South-western Sydney region. Georges Hall is bounded by the Georges River in the west and Bankstown Aerodrome in the south. The suburbs of Bass Hill and Condell Park lie to the north and east, respectively. Lansdowne is a suburb in south-western Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The Georges River, also known as Tucoerah River, is an intermediate tide-dominated drowned valley estuary, located to the south and west of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The river travels for approximately in a north and then easterly direction to its mouth at Botany Bay, about from the Tasman Sea. Henry Lawson Drive
Henry Lawson Drive is an urban two-lane road located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The road's northwestern terminus is at the Hume Highway and Woodville Road at the "Meccano Set" in , with its southeastern terminus at Forest Road and Jacques Avenue Peakhurst. The road is named in honour of Henry Lawson (1867-1922), one of Australia's foremost poets. It is designated as Main Road 508 for administrative purposes. In 1964, on its completion, it was signposted as part of ring road 5, replaced by state route 55 in 1974. The maximum elevation of the road is AMSL and at its lowest point it is AMSL. Garrison Point is a promontory and historically significant urban park located near the junction of Georges River and Prospect Creek. The parkland may be accessed off Henry Lawson Drive, in the south-western Sydney suburb of , in the City of Canterbury-Bankstown local government area of New South Wales, Australia. In 1795 Matthew Flinders, George Bass, and the boy servant William Martin, explored the Georges River to land at what is now Garrison Point and discover the what is now part of City of Canterbury-Bankstown. The area is so named because in Bankstown's early history, a garrison of soldiers was stationed here to ensure the safety of Major George Johnston as he conducted a census in the area.
