"Mint Car" is a song by English rock band the Cure, released as the second single from their tenth studio album ''Wild Mood Swings'' in June 1996. It reached the top 20 in Finland and Iceland and peaked at number 31 on the UK Singles Chart. Background Robert Smith has stated in an interview that he thought this song was better than the British top-10 hit "Friday I'm in Love". Smith said, "it was the single, and I thought it was a better song than 'Friday'. But it did absolutely nothing because we weren't the band at that time. The zeitgeist wasn't right. It taught me that sometimes there's a tipping point, and if you're the band, you're the band, even if you don't want to be, and there's nothing you can do about it." The Cure are an English Rock music, rock band formed in 1978 in Crawley, Crawley, West Sussex. The ''Gavin Report'' was a San Francisco-based radio industry trade publication. The publication was founded by radio performer Bill Gavin in 1958. Its Top 40 listings were used for many years by programmers to decide content of programs. The publication was also responsible for running the Gavin Seminar, a convention for radio industry members. In February 2002, United Business Media, who had owned the Gavin Report since 1992, decided to close the publication. ''DV'' (''Dagblaðið Vísir'') is an online newspaper in Iceland published by Torg ehf. It came into existence as a daily newspaper in 1981 when two formerly independent newspapers, Vísir and Dagblaðið, merged. Early on it was one of the largest newspapers in Iceland and at one point had a 64% readership in Iceland.
