Minnette Ella Gersh Lenier (July 9, 1945 in Atlanta, Georgia – February 7, 2011 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California) was a teacher and professional magician who used Magic (illusion), stage magic to improve students' reading and learning skills. Minnette Frerichs Doderer (May 16, 1923 – August 12, 2005) was an American politician. She served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1964 to 1969 and from 1981 to 2001 and in the Iowa Senate from 1969 to 1979. Early life Doderer was born on May 16, 1923, in Holland, Iowa. Her parents were John A. Frerichs and Sophie Frerichs (née Sherfield). The family moved to Waterloo, Iowa, where Doderer attended East High School, graduating in 1941. She studied at Iowa State Teachers College and received a bachelor's of arts degree in economics from the University of Iowa in 1948. She married Fred H. Doderer, who would later become the mayor of Iowa City, in 1944 and the couple had two children: Dennis and Kay Lynn. Minnette Vári (born 1968) is a South African artist known primarily for her video installations. Born in Pretoria, Vári studied fine arts at the University of Pretoria where she obtained her master's degree. She lives and works in Johannesburg. Minnetta Sammis Leonard (1879 – October 15, 1960) was an American educator, and editor of ''The Home Educator'' (1923), a parenting manual. Early life and education Sammis was born in Indiana, the daughter of David Sturges Sprague Sammis and Adelaide F. Hall Sammis. Hymn writer John H. Sammis was her uncle. She graduated from Teachers College, Columbia University in 1906. Career After college, Sammis was Supervisor of Kindergarten Work in the Oglethorpe School at Atlanta University. Leonard taught kindergarten education courses at the Milwaukee State Normal School. She was president of the Wisconsin Kindergarten Association. Minnetta Theodora Taylor
Minnetta Theodora Taylor (March 2, 1860 - July 26, 1911) was an American author and poet of the long nineteenth century. A polyglot, Taylor spoke 45 languages. She was also a clubwoman and suffragist. Shortly after Taylor's death in 1911, the Woman Suffrage Party post-humously awarded her the prize for the best poem, "Ballot Song of American Women", to be set to music and to become the National Suffrage Anthem. Among her intimate friends were the writers, James Whitcomb Riley, Lew Wallace, George Ade, Wilbur D. Nesbitt, Rex Beach, and Bliss Carman; Opie Read called her "The Little Sister of Poets".
