Ministry Of Sports And Youth Affairs (Myanmar)
The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs ( my, အားကစားနှင့် လူငယ်ရေးရာ ဝန်ကြီးဌာန; MOSYA) administers Myanma sports and youth affairs. The ministry was formed in 1996 as Ministry of Sports and organized as Ministry of Health and Sports in 2016. In 2021, following the formation of caretaker government, the ministry was reorganized as Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. The current union minister is Min Thein Zan, appointed by SAC Chairman Min Aung Hlaing. The Department of Sports and Physical Education, Department of Youth Affairs and their branches are under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. Other afflications are Myanmar National Olympic Council, National Olympic Committee and Sports Federations. The Union Minister must be the chairman of National Olympic Committee. The 1961 Southeast Asian Peninsular Games, officially known as the 2nd Southeast Asian Peninsular Games, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event held in Rangoon, Burma from 11 to 16 December 1961 with 13 sports featured in the games. Thura Aye Myint ( my, အေးမြင့်) was the Minister of Labour of Burmese from 2013 to 2016. Aye Myint contested the 2010 Burmese general election as a Union Solidarity and Development Party candidate, winning a Pyithu Hluttaw seat for the Mawlamyine Township constituency. He served as Minister of Science and Technology from March 2011 to August 2012 and as Minister of Industry from August 2012 to July 2013. Than Shwe
Than Shwe ( my, သန်းရွှေ, ; born 2 February 1933 or 3 May 1935) is a Burmese strongman politician who was the head of state of Myanmar from 1992 to 2011 as Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC). During this period, he held key positions of power including Prime Minister of Myanmar, Commander-in-chief of Myanmar Defense Services and head of the Union Solidarity and Development Association. The caretaker government of Myanmar ( my, အိမ်စောင့်အစိုးရ), officially the Provisional Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar ( my, ပြည်ထောင်စုသမ္မတမြန်မာနိုင်ငံတော် အိမ်စောင့်အစိုးရ), is the executive body under the current military junta of Myanmar, the State Administration Council. A coup d'état in Myanmar began on the morning of 1 February 2021, when democratically elected members of the country's ruling party, the National League for Democracy (NLD), were deposed by the Tatmadaw—Myanmar's military—which then vested power in a military junta. Myint Htwe ( my, မြင့်ထွေး ; born 24 September 1948) is a Burmese politician, public health physician, and former Minister for Health and Sports of Myanmar . Early life and education Myint Htwe was born on 24 September 1948 in Sittwe, Burma (now Myanmar) to Shwe Tha Htwe and Aye Yi. Win Myint ( ; born 8 November 1951) is a Burmese politician who served as the tenth president of Myanmar from 2018 to 2021. He was removed from office in the 2021 Burmese coup d'état. He was the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Myanmar from 2016 to 2018. He also served as a member of parliament in the House of Representatives (Pyithu Hluttaw) from 2012 to 2018. Mya Lay Sein ( Burmese: ; born 1954) is a Burmese physiologist, former badminton player and Deputy Minister for Health and Sports for Myanmar from 2018 to 2021. Htin Kyaw ( my, ထင်ကျော်, or ; born 20 July 1946) is a Burmese politician, writer and scholar who served as the ninth president of Myanmar from 30 March 2016 to 21 March 2018.
