The Ministry of Public Health of North Korea ( ko, 조선민주주의인민공화국 보건성) is a central administrative agency of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. It was founded on September 2, 1948, when the Cabinet of North Korea was established. Since January 2022, the Minister is O Chun-bok. The Ministry operates the Pugang Pharmaceutic Company. O Chun-bok
O Chun-bok () is a North Korean politician. She served as Minister of Health in the Cabinet of North Korea and as candidate member of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. The Cabinet of North Korea (''Naegak'') is, according to the Constitution of North Korea, the administrative and executive body and a general state-management organ in the Government of North Korea. The Cabinet's principal newspaper is ''Minju Choson''. History In North Korea's first constitution, adopted in 1948, the executive powers were vested in the Cabinet, chaired by Kim Il-sung himself. The 1972 constitution saw the establishment of the post of President of North Korea which led the executive branch, and the cabinet was split into two organizations: The Central People's Committee and the State Administration Council. Pugang Pharmaceutic Company
The Pugang Pharmaceutic Company( ko, 부강제약회사) is a pharmaceutical company founded in 1983 and operated by North Korea's Ministry of Public Health. Although the company did have its assets frozen as a result of U.S. sanctions against North Korea, its products are sold internationally by Lekar Korea, a distributor for the company based in Russia. Products sold by the company are mostly traditional Korean medicine (" Koryo medicine" in North Korea) supplements combined with high-technology products. These products include Royal Blood-Fresh, and Kumdang-2 Kumdang-2 is an alleged cure for AIDS, Ebola, MERS, and tuberculosis created in North Korea.
